Question JAR´s in Portugal

Hi every one!

This is just a question maybe not interesting for many people, but to me is becoming very important and I´m getting little desperated

Do any one know when Portugal will start issuing the JAR licence? .

I started my abinitio by the year 1993 with a training course based on a draft JAR program and they said by then they will adopt quickly the JAR´s. True is they ask everything conforming the JAR but still don´t issue licences in that format after 10 years

Mine and other pro pilots I know, currently flying have the risk of being fired or not promoted whilst have no JAR licence, so any news, web page where to pick info or place a formal complaint to the Eutropean Comission will be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Mr. Laria,

I would like to answer your query on when the Portuguese CAA ( INAC -
Portugal ) will issue JAR-FCL licences, as follows :

Presently, Portugal is in its final stage of implementing JAR-FCL 1
(aeroplane) and JAR-FCL 3 (medical).

The necessary standardisation visit (audit) by the JAA to INAC-Portugal is
scheduled for November 2003. If the result of this visit is satisfactory,
the issuing of Portuguese licences based on JAR-FCL standards may be
initiated.

I recommend you to consult regularly our website for the latest
information, see : http://www.jaa.nl/licensing/licensing_overview.html

If you have further queries do not hesitate to contact me.

With the kindest regards,

Luis Cardoso Ribeiro
Licensing Sectorial Team Co-ordinator
Central JAA

Enfim...

JAA people visited a couple of weeks ago and are apparently happy with what they saw (schools, INAC, etc). JAR licenses should start being issued early 2004 I heard.

Hello,

I have heard the same, still im not impressed with INAC! They are far behind than any other European country, but they are showing some progress, slow but it´s getting there.

The Portuguese JAR-FCL licenses started being issued last December. The first one was issued to Cpt. Sottomayor, president of the APPLA (Portuguese Airline Pilots Association).
All licenses issued will be JAR-FCL from now on.

Thumbs up Portugese JAR-FCL Licences

Very Good News for INAC and the Portuguese Aviation Community !

INAC Portugal is now JAR-FCL compliant and Portugese JAR-FCL licences will be mutual recognised by other JAA Member States.

Well done !
