Hi,
I live in Torremolinos, which is a 5 minute drive from the airport and I receive newsletters of jobs at the airport. I'm not sure if it's the one you want but if you're interested, I could send you a few screenshots and see if it helps you in any manner.

Thank you Mohit C, any help would be greatly appreciated. Are the jobs you mention flying ones? Not looking for anything else!

Kind regards

Oh, I'm afraid they're everything else but flying, like Air Traffic Controller. Not sure if at the airport, but there is one to do with flying, with a small aircraft around the coast. If I get any information, I'll let you know.

Hi Mohit_C, could you tell us a bit more about the job you mention? Minimum flight time required, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I've heard of one of these types around the coast, however it doesn't sound one very interesting. I heard that all they do is rounds around the coast taking tourists from one end of the coast to the other. If I get any more information, I'll let you people know.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but jobs flying anything with more than four seats out of Malaga are rarer than hens teeth

probably not in AGP, but Vueling and Clickair are hiring and would be pleased to receive your CV i would say (BCN Based i think, but not sure).

ANS has some planes based there (ATR and CRJ), but getting a job with them will be veeeeeeeery difficult, just don't hold your breath if getting a job with them is your wish.

Easyjet based in Madrid would be a good option too, lot's of flights between MAD and AGP allowing crews who live in AGP or Madrid to conmute every day (in Spain you can jumpseat as extracrew in almost all companies except Iberia, so if you get a job with EZY in MAD you could probably spend all your days off in AGP).

good luck with your jobhunting

I'd say it's almost impossible nowadays!

Or rather fearsible...depending on what your ID Card says and your family's tree (friends included...).

Business as usual as (almost) everywhere...remember: it matters WHO you know NOT WHAT you know

It used to be the case,I am afraid it is not anymore, Iberia is not hiring, and it looks they wont be hiring at all in the future, it doesn't matter wo you know or who you are because the company has been reducing it's fleet and do not even replace people retiring.

The thing is that Iberia, in order to avoid hiring people has made arrangements for other companies to operate IB flights, and this exgternal companies are operating an increasing percentage of IB flights, rumour is that the company wont hire one more pilot untill T&C's are renegotiated and lowered to what the board would consider acceptable, they have so far the best T&C's of all in Spain

If they ever do again, as PZ says, who you know will definitly be the important asset you will need to make it.

Other companies are hiring though, as i said above EZY (new base in MAD), Click air (BCN and VLC), and Vueling , this last one has ,apparently, a very high turnover of Capts. that leave because of the wages and the amount of work, rumour was that working in RYR was a walk in the park compared to work for Vueling, you get a nice uniform though .

For those of you not being in the loop , Clickair is a new Lowcost company created, owned and directed mainly by Iberia, they are using airplanes and inrastructures of Iberia (ANS and others are also associated with Iberia in this new company)

ANS is hiring but they still have some people in the holding pool (30 at least), rumours say still some new planes to come in 2007, but as i said it is very difficult te get in whatever your background is and they don't hire DEC's.

Good luck

I know an EZY Captain who "lives" in ALC but commutes to/from LON on days off. The 5/4/5/3 pattern (which won't apply at MAD base) makes commuting easy, it's also cheap. No jumpseat travel permitted on EZY at the moment though, but confirmed seat Staff Travel is available on most routes, especially to ALC & AGP. Single days of Leave can be taken in EZY which can give you a 5/4/4/4 pattern if you're clever .
