From the British Helicopter Advisory Board's (BHAB) website (www.bhab.org), see:

ICAO Annex 14 Volume II Heliports and the ICAO Heliport Manual.

(ICAO publications are available on application to Airplan Flight Equipment, 1a Ringway Trading Estate, Shadowmoss Road, Manchester M22 5LH - Telephone 0161 499 0023.)

If you're only interested in private ops I think I'm correct in saying there are no requirements for the pad itself outside of the usual common sense ones regarding suitability for the aircraft, eg: sloping ground, illumination for night ops, etc.

Hope this helps. Buzz me back if you need more.

I guess you should check the requirements set by the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) for the building of a private helipad at:

http://www.mfom.es/aviacioncivil/sol...torizacion.htm

Direct link to the PDF:

http://www.mfom.es/aviacioncivil/sol...elipuertos.pdf

Looks like the documents are only available in spanish, though...
