Apologies for not replying sooner. I have today spoken with Peter to discuss his current situation and also to consider the disposal of the remaining funds that I collected on his behalf.

Due to lack of funds Peter has effectively given up on receiving the medical treatment he had hoped for. There is an outside chance of another review in May but it may be that he has to now adapt to the possibility of life without any significant change in his current medical status. Peter has said how much he has appreciated all the genuine interest and concern shown by the many PPruners who contacted him. It has meant a great deal to him at a very low point in his life. Offsetting that, he was not prepared for the onslaught of abusive and insulting comments from a few people who knew nothing about him and had no intention of finding out the truth. I have tried to give a fair and balanced view of the situation as I see it in previous posts on this thread and on others. I have nothing to add to those views and would reiterate my previous comments that Peter's case is a tragic situation which could have been any one of us in different circumstances.

Regarding money, as things stand today there is a total of £397.32 in the account and I am keen to dispose of that as soon as practicable. To that end I have asked Peter to provide me with receipts/invoices for any previous/forthcoming medical expenses of which there are a few. I anticipate that there will be therefore ample opportunity to spend the entire ammount appropriately. As always, a full acounting of every penny spent is available to any who wishes it.

I can see no point now in keeping this thread open, and ask anyone who needs to discuss 'finances' to use the PM system as you suggest.
