Expat Mortgages
All,
I'm looking for advice regarding obtaining a mortgage in the UK while working abroad. I have investigated the usual high street channels, but they are unwilling to lend without a UK salary.
Has anyone any experience of obtaining a mortgage in the UK with a foreign salary.
I'm busy scouring the web for ideas, but a personal recommendation holds a lot of water.
Thanks.

Actually I had a conversation about this with my bank yesterday. The feeling was that I would need 6 months of UK payslips before anyone would make me an offer. However, as I had been with my Bank for some time there was a possibility that they could put me in touch with another lender who would be prepared to help.
So my simple advice would be to ensure that you retain your UK Bank Account and if possible pay regular (if small) amounts into it on a monthly basis.
Most financial institutions want your business but need reasons to believe that you are a good credit risk.

Try Expat Mortgages Specialists| Expat Finance and Loan |Liquid Expat Mortgages they sorted a friend of mine a while back. There was an article in last weeks UK Sunday times about expats being shunned by the main lenders but also listed a few of the smaller lenders that were taking on expat mortgages.
