Plane Flip: Reagan National Airport

Reported by BBC, with video

BBC News - Oh flip! WWII plane lands with a bump

A World War II-era plane flipped over while landing at Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.

The aircraft was part of a group of vintage biplanes flying to promote the opening of 3-D film "Legends of Flight."

The pilot told investigators that he tapped the brakes and the plane flipped over its nose and landed upside down.

The pilot and a Washington Post reporter were on-board but neither were injured in the accident.

Tim Allman reports.
