Two Seater Spitfire

Does anyone know who owns the two seater spitfires, is the second seat for hire.

One is owned by Caroline Grace. Aircraft is based at Duxford I think. Damaged earlier in the year but I suppose it's back up and running by now. If you want to hire the second seat start saving your pennies. (And your pounds probably!)

Well worth it though. I'm not a pilot but it was F*"!*%$ brilliant! Schoolboy dream come true!

That's part of how the aircraft pays for itself but last I heard, because its hours are limited, there is a fair waiting list.

There is another twin stick Spitfire at Caenarfon, but I don't know if he hire out the second seat.

If you want to fly in the Spitfire, think numbers in the region of £600.

And a long waiting list!

I know it sounds expensive, but it costs an awful lot of serious dosh to keep a spitfire flying!

The two-seat (ML407) is owned by Carolyn Grace and kept at Duxford. She can be contacted at:

The cost will be four figures. There is always a possibility you could take the back seat on the way to an airshow. She likes to get groups of at least six people together. There is a long queue, but that gives you time to save up!

Other two-seaters are PT462 owned by Anthony Hodgeson in Wales, and Maurice Bayliss's at Coventry. I do not know whether it is possible to buy a ride in either of these. I have not heard of anyone doing it.

Hi there,Launchpad.
Another for the collection.......
Maurice and Peter Bayliss own a Tr.9,(MJ627) G-BMSB, based at Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire. Last heard of having an u/c problem,being test-flown by Paul Day,I think at Coventry.
This is the only UK regd.Spit with the original Vickers-designed rear cockpit.
Flies very little...bit special...so not much chance of a ride I don't think.
Still,best of luck,L. Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon!!!
