Post Hotel Safety

Spending as much time away from home as I do means I spend a lot in Hotels. The article on this site relating to Hotel fires is opportune.

For the last year I have included in my flight bag a Smoke Hood. Whilst I would not fly without it I belive that it greatly enhances hotel safety.

Are there any views on this or allied topics

In mid '99 I was in a certain foreign country on a conversion course. Our next sim slot was 48 hrs away and we decided to get down to the bar(as one does). An alcoholic late morning and afternoon ensued.During the course of the proceedings our attention was diverted by the arrival of another crew and their associated Cabin Crew.Negotiations were 50/50.

That night,as my colleague informed me the next morning, the bloody fire alarm went off.The whole hotel was evacuated and congregated at the front entrance, where, seeing his opportunity,he made his move on the best looking of the C.C.
I,naturally, sleapt through the whole bloody thing!

The moral is 1.Know where the fire exits are.
2.If you fancy a stewardess from a fellow crew, stop drinking at four!
