Hi, does anyone have any information about the working conditions in this airline? The latest package seems to be as much as what the Chinese counterpart are paying.

Cost of living is somewhat different and there are local opportunities arising now with KC, Prince and others which will keep renumerations competitive I would imagine

couple friends flying there.
10000 USD is basic salary with 0 flight hours.
so if you fly 60 hours, it will be 10000+120x60=17200 USD.

you could travel on GD but not too many flights so far.

year 2 3 4 5+ basic will become 9000 10000 11000 11500
and fly pay becomes 150 USD / hr from 2nd year.

so 60 hours for 2nd year will be
9000+1500+9000= 19500 USD

The information I got was at end of 2016, so it may not be most updated. FYI

Flap3 6th Feb 2018 08:58

Well, and if you fly 120 hours... you will get...
You cannot take it into account, because, what happen if you for some reason fly 0 hours?
you will get basic salary only....

Well if is really zero flying hours and getting paid usd10k, that is definitely way better than China. But I'm sure they will not keep the pilots on the ground and not flying.

I’d be happy to be paid 10000 USD and spend all the time with my family. Unfortunately they do make u fly. Average 50-60 hours a month at this stage.

Cheap.
Depending on your taste and location, you can find nice apartments from $400 to over $1500 with inclusions such as cable, internet, parking, cleaning laundry and water.
You can spend $7/month on pre-paid top-up cards for your cell phone and surf the web all day.
You can buy a new moto for $1400 or a secondhand one for $350, or take tuk-tuks, taxis etc for a few dollars each time.
I fly here and while I may not gross what I could make elsewhere, for the amount I save each month while still having a top quality of life, it's the right place for me...for now!

Slarberg 9th Feb 2018 04:56

How.many hours do you fly each month

How much is net salary average a month?

Could you tell us how.many days off you have a month?

Any roster you can share with us?

How long is from.interview till join the company?
Thanks!

a3twenty 9th Feb 2018 06:43

I heard it from a buddy that the past 2 months salaries were delayed. Any truth in that ? Regardless, how much is the average monthly flying and take home. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Thanks,

JC AIRLINES

Was thinking about applying to this outfit but I am hearing a lot of bad things about them, 2 months delayed salaries and internal problems in the management. aircrafts grounded and people leaving in masses etc.

Is this company closing? Can anyone shed some light????

Ciao!!!

QD992 13th Jun 2019 07:59

Our aircraft plan delayed once again, aircraft will not come shortly.
Salary start to delay a lot since July, before July, I think JC is the best in Cambodia.
Salary on paper is good, well paid on time is the best, unfortunately......

QD992,

Are you finding enough pilots to fly all your airplanes ? If so, are they more expats or local pilots ?

QD992 14th Jun 2019 01:58

We still looking for captain and FO. Currently local and expat is about 1:5

Be Careful with JC.

The contract on paper is FANTASTIC, but in reality not so fantastic.

Expect long salary delays (1 month+) and company has financial difficulties. This is due to a lot of corruption within the company. The airline is waiting to receive this 2 new aircrafts for the last 2 years now so I am not sure about this so called "expansion".

Aircrafts are in very good shape and you always have engineer with you.

The problem with this outfit is their mentality regarding standards and training. Its VERY different from flying with a "western" airline and don't expect any constructive training. The show is run by the taiwanese mafia over there.
I only lasted there 3 months and I had my lesson. Money is not everything. Prefer to rather work with a "logical" company where the atmosphere among the colleagues is nice, rather this "punish" style airline with WEIRD non Airbus procedures and philosophy. They even have a special dedicated webpage where all the punished personnel is published by name and rank (the Hall of Shame). The stress among flight crew is high because everyone fears they will be the next victim of punishment and grounding. Just because they give you high salary (on paper), they think they can do whatever they want with you. STAY AWAY

Global Aviator 14th Jun 2019 05:25

High salary?

If there is a basic then $120 an hour yes, if it’s flat $120 an hour it’s one of the worst!

So what’s the monthly figure?

its 10000 basic + 120$/h + night + sector + bonus

BUT they have financial problems and the above come very late and sometimes not at all! As I said before it looks VERY good on paper. Environment is also very challenging. Good luck

Global Aviator 14th Jun 2019 05:43

Yep that’s China $$$...

QD992,

Thanks for the info. Just idle curiosity on my part as I'm not job hunting. I don't recall hearing much at all about your airline and just wondered what it's like. Since my airline career was exclusively US domestic, I know little about the "real" world but find it very interesting.

The expat portion of your pilot group is quite high. I also see from your job posting elsewhere that type rated and current is required. That must mean you are in a position to be particular and are getting plenty of applicants:

Jimmy The Big Greek 14th Jun 2019 14:59

There is only one western pilot working there (F.O) the rest are mostly expats from ASIA. Mostly from Taiwan.

Yes, we have salary delay, for example, every 10th is the contract payment day for last month, while the actual payment day might be 1-2 weeks later. As far as I work here for 1.5 years, no delay for 4 weeks or above.
With route expanding, our pilot can fly around 75 average, FO can fly 85 hour average. While we pay according your flying hours. captain is 120USD/hour.

Hi

Can you tell me what the hiring minimums are for First Officers? Also, I tried to PM you but your inbox is full.

Why don’t you fix it? That’s kind of like your job. You expect your aircraft to leave on time, but not salaries?

jcairlines 11th Dec 2019 04:29

Hello... If you haven’t joined in yet, then this info is not too late.. Before it was good, but now everything is ****ty. September till November salary haven’t been paid, and there are no good signs that the company is willing to pay. There had been delays in the past but they still paid just after few months but this time, its way different. They are now firing cabin crew and pilots. They have a list of 30 cabin crew and not sure how many pilots who will be fired. They based this action whether the cabin had many tardiness records, and they will conduct technical interviews. Those who will fail to answer will be fired.

The news was the big boss lost millions of dollars in casino in one of the casino’s in cambodia including any profit from JC Airlines. And now, as a result, they delayed all salary.

Anyone out there, whether pilots, cabin crew, engineers or whatever airline position or job title you have. Keep away from JC Airlines. We haven’t got a new job and is nearing Christmas and Chinese New Year now, and we feel hopeless. No one in top management not even department heads, brave enough to address nor apologize to their people about this whole thing. Its a save your own ass kind of thing.

jcairlines 11th Dec 2019 04:44

Do not believe DQ992! September salary till November salary is not yet paid. Not to mention December salary as well.. And in order to get salary one needs to go personally to finance department and get it yourself. But finance is playing hide and seek! If yu go straight to CEO, the CEO himself went to hiding. No chairman, vice chairman, ceo, no finance guy to process your salary payment. Finance Manager is useless because he need three signatories in order to release money, and signatories comes from the 3 top most leaders in the company namely CEO, Chairman and Vice Chairman.

Engineers, ground staff, cabin crew and pilots and their families are now starving. No salary yet operation still goes, (because people are too professional so even if they haven’t received anything yet, they continue to function as normal.. God knows until when they can stand these abuses..

To all, who is thinking or considering coming here, think twice. This is not a made up story. Its the truth! And the truth will always surface no matter how much lies they will put up in social medias etc...QD992; you know better and you know well I am not lying! Do not fool people anymore!

Don’t play with people’s lives!!!!

jcairlines 11th Dec 2019 04:47

Speak only the truth QD992!

No matter what, do not join JC Airlines. Pilots and Cabin Crew and all ground staff are still not paid for September, October and November salary except for finance department people who get their salary on time of course.

This is the actual status as i post this reply. JC Airlines is a sinking ship nd the captains of the ship (CEO, Chairman, Vice Chairman and all others) saved thei own ass’s!!!

QD992 13th Dec 2019 00:59

I don't mean to fool anyone. When I post the thread, it is true that JC still is good option, the delay is not too much.
Unfortunately, the past few months, things getting worse so quickly. I apologize for not updating this threat. and thank you for your notice, and wish you good luck to get all salary and find a good option soon.

QD992 13th Dec 2019 01:17

Well, the first paragraph I would agree with you that when you select airlines in cambodia, be very careful.
One correction regarding work permit and business visa. Business visa is the working visa in Cambodia, and as I know JC paid for work permit for every staff.

QD992 13th Dec 2019 01:22

stopped pilot recruitment already.
paper salary good, if you can wait for the salary, seriously.

QD992 13th Dec 2019 01:22

now I wait for my Septermber salary, so......

bigbird 13th Dec 2019 17:40

So it's December now and you are still not paid for September.
Time
to look for a new job I think.

jcairlines 14th Dec 2019 03:01

Yes we are all looking for new one. But we’re still chasing our unpaid ones coz bills piled up..

BAe 146-100 15th Dec 2019 07:52

Chinese scam company was always gonna end this way!!! Are you really surprised?

safelife 15th Dec 2019 09:27

JC owners spend big on apartments in china town Sihanoukville, lost 3000 tenants, and are now short 3 million US$ cash flow each month.
