The "Experienced Based Compensation" is a scam. The reason it's not posted, and will be "discussed in the interview" is because it's changed at will, and often. In other words, it's whatever they want it to be. and they do change.

The base pay is after training and when released to fly the line. This will take over six months. Until then, you can expect a "training allowance" of about P20,000 a month. That's it. And while you are doing "Supervised Line Flying" you WILL NOT receive hourly flight pay. P20,000 is equivalent to US $425. Try to live in Manila on that kind of pay.

Scheduling is horrific. Good luck on getting 8 days off a month. You will only get 15 days of leave a year, period.

You will not be paid for sick time.

Uniforms? Good luck on that as well. Be prepared to supply your own.

Training is abysmal. Did they mention your "training bond"? Doesn't matter if you are already typed, you will be required to sign a 3 year training bond.

Also, you will be responsible for your own work permit, which will cost between P40,000 to P60,000. And you will be responsible for all cost associated with conversion of your licences. CP pays for nothing.

Bottom line is virtually all expats have left CP, and for good reason.

I was going to say . US 15k +accommodation ++ is just a starting point.

Black Crow 6th Jan 2016 11:46

The "training" is another bad point of this company. Probably the worst in Asia.

Saw an ad by Contractair for DEC A320's.

In your opinion is this across all fleets?

Yes it is.

Hey guys, I posted on another CP thread as well. Can somebody please inbox me an actual humans email address in HR/recruitment?

squarecrow 12th Jul 2016 04:37

Just reading the post by Black Crow regarding the Training Bond.for 3 years despite being Type rated, seriously?
So many times I hear this sort of thing from this kind of Outfit.
Good luck enforcing that financial penalty and secondly its just a scare tactic Handcuff. To me it says a lot about the Company. It seems to have migrated to the Middle East as well but at least this one is smart enough to keep it to 1 year.

Black Crow 15th Jul 2016 14:02

It's a desperation measure because they know most pilots will bail after a short time. It's really just an indentured servitude to hold captive a pilot because of poor working conditions.

This is why you don't see such silly tactics in the west because the companies there actually make it worthwhile to work for them rather than treating employees as slaves.

Recently found out CP offers local contract and leasing contract to expats? Which contract do most of the expats in CP chose?

Black Crow 23rd Dec 2016 16:45

Most expats avoid this place. The few that venture in quickly leave once they see what goes on there.

Smokie 24th Dec 2016 01:10

I see that recently they were looking for FOs on the 330 but were looking for Captains hrs on type. Rated 330 with a 1000 hrs PIC or Not rated but Flybywire hours as 2500 PIC.... for an A330 FO gig...???? Really? :hmm:

CaptainProp 1st Jan 2017 12:55

Parc is offering $15k + $1.5k for 330 and $12k + $1.5k for 320 for this contract so I doubt numbers quoted here are correct.

Yep, contracts pay more than local terms.

But go back and review the history on how CP treats contractors. Contract starts out OK, then CP attempts to end the contracts and says "But we'll hire you under local terms" which is a significant pay cut. I know several that had their contracts ended early, and one gent that had his contract ended within a couple of months of signing it.

Contracts are worthless at CP. Better yet, go find an ExPat that has completed his contract at CP, far and few between.

CaptainProp 1st Jan 2017 20:59

Well thats something the pilots conserned should bring up with their contract agency then.

Just do a search on this site and read. If after that you want to work where you will be lied to, be treated like crap, have the worst schedule imaginable and the worst pay in the industry, then go for it.

My advise if they hire you is to bring LOTS of money with you for the first six months to a year. And also keep enough money available to buy an airline ticket out of the country back home, you will eventually need it.
