Instructor Jobs in China

Hello All,

I am a graduate flight instructor from New Zealand and I am interested in working in china as either an instructor or an English teacher at a flight school. I would be grateful if anyone has some connections or advice on this.

I speak some mandarin and despite the bad press regarding Chinese flight schools I am still keen to give it a go. :ok:

Thanks Heaps!

Interview confirmed

I received a job interview for Hainan Aviation Academy they gave me one weeks notice and the interview is in Australia, I live in NZ :} I called and managed to arrange for a phone interview instead. :ok:

If I get the position I will post my experiences in this forum. I am prepared to move ship to work and live in China however understandably I have concerns regarding working in china.

The biggest concern being eventually I want to move on to an airline however I understand that once hired I am essentially "owned" by the company and they may not release my licence or give me a horrible reference crashing my chances at being hired by another airline.

For now I'll play it by ear, take promises with a large grain of salt, do my best in the interview and read the fine print in the contract over 9000 times.

Sweet!!!!! I have been accepted by HNA my paperwork here in NZ is taking forever. I haven't signed anything yet but things are happening. My next hurdle will be the CAAC ATPL examination which, from what I have read is a challenge.

Currently still working my day job in NZ making preparations to leave soon.

If anyone has recently sat the examination pm me with some tips!

try CAAC ATPL Theory Exam Preparation

Ensure that they have the new QB from Dec 2015 incorporated in the software before you buy it. I used it to pass my exams. Excellent service, normally feedback within a few hours if you encounter a problem with a question.

Know that a lot of memorization is needed to pass the CAAC ATPL exam, lots of hours studying Chinglish questions that make little sense, especially with about 600-800 questions in the mix !! At the moment about 40-50% pass with marks around 70-73%.

GOOD LUCK!

Do You mean the whole question bank is about 800 questions? Is it only 1 written exam for CAAC ATPL?
I am thinking to apply also! Actually, I'd love to.

Candidates with english as mother tongue are prefered
That's what the job description says even if there are two mistakes in it.

To get a Chinese ATPL you will have to do an English Comprehension Test. I would imagine, like colleges requiring English speaking teachers, that they would demand a native English speaker. You can, of course, have a read of this thread.
