Skies Aviation Dubai

Hi thegreatflyer and all welcome to comment:

Do you have any negative feedback about Skies Aviation Dubai?
They have offered me TR on B737CL + Line training for 500 hours + 1 year job guarantee to achieve 900 hours so the total number of hours you will achieve for the entire course + 1 year job guarantee is 1400 hours.

The cost is very expensive (around Euro 70K) but though I'm not sure about their business how reliable they are if the company went bankrupted? I'd highly appreciate anyone's comment.

Prop.Time 22nd Aug 2012 10:23

Massive cheat - that so-called Capt.Anasi. Quite a few of me mates fell prey to that scumbag.

AVOID with a barge pole!

I would rather suggest G.T.A. Madrid ,Baltic Aviation or any of the CAEs. At least you wont be cheated by them- for a start.

shakthi aviator 27th Aug 2012 08:04

hello great flyer

i can see that you want to give information that you know i appreciate it but i was a student there when that incident took place when RJ academy lost its way , skies were not the promoters . RJ cheated us we were not cheated by people in dubai but from people in sweden against whom the cases are already on dont blame some one if you are not good with the information.

thegreatflyer 27th Aug 2012 15:10

@ shakthi & Xfive

yeah right i can see how all of a sudden you both popped up out of no where

I would be not wrong if would say that you were prompted by skies to write so
as we couldnt find you before on pprune .

the only good great time you probably had was at the dance bars by the night,

as i am sure there was no ground studies, jet transition and any other stuff related .

Lastly faculty is same as was in Rj, from Once So called capt Mazin and riyami and ernesto..

I am also very Correct with the info that none of the A320 tr cadet got a job back here in india

better try being a good human being by helping others rather than licking their A**.

Till Then
You Take Care .

shakthi aviator 27th Aug 2012 16:30

@great flyer

all i wanted to do is help others here but all you are doing is talking about RJ flight academy which none of them asked about , and regarding the instructors i just wanted to ask you a question if govt in india does a mistake say corruption so you will say your father is corrupted too just bcoz he works in the govt office think before you talk , guys training is good at skies if you want to take it or leave it its up to you but i was affected by RJ and later did the training with skies capt mazin and others over there helped me , RJ cheated thats for true but pilots over there are not responsible for that i lost money but still i support the training and pilots of skies......its up to the individual to take it up or not....and it is not that ilot rated from RJ din get job even people got rated from many TRTO din get job so if you take those statistics i think home is the ideal place for you ....CHEERS!!!!!

thegreatflyer 27th Aug 2012 17:33

@shakthi..

i am amazed with obsession you have with skies .Did they gave you free passes to the dance bar or may be made your nights worth ..

lets put some light on the statistics other than your emotions :D

1. How many is the total strength of skies _____ ? (3)

2. How Old Are they Into Aviation _____ ? ( couple of weeks )

3. How Many instructors in total do they have ____ ? (3)

4. Are they full time Or Part time ____ ? ( All Part time )

5. Do they have any faculty or an office ____ ? ( just a room with a table )

6. Where did you gave your technical exam ____ ? ( some hotel room, i bet )

7. Did you ever went through Mcc or Jet Transition ___ ? ( probably you are hearing these words for the first time )

8. Is it the same Capt mazin who manages everything, from replying mails to visa and hotels and then instructing and ground classes and taking exams and eventually everything ..!!! ???

9. And is it the same capt mazin who has hopped and switched 3 different companies in few week Rj ..Then Jats ---- and now Skies ..!!

Does skies even owns a fraction of sim ____ ? ( all at the mercy of cae, the slots you get are at 4 in the morning )

Dude relax and sit back ..!!!

Skies Aviation

Hi All

I am considering doing an A320 type rating and a line training program at a huge expense! Reading some of the comments here worry me a little bit! Is there anyone who is training with Skies at the moment? Do you have to pay everything before arriving?

I can't seem to find an office address for them which again is very worrying! There is only a P.O BOX address listed on the Skies Aviation website..... Surely that can't be right? I have been in contact with Ms. Faranak Lotfizad who is very helpful

Please forward me any info that you may have. They seem to be a good company.

You Seem Intelligent Enough to Have All the answers Already

Intercockpit, cockpit4u, oxford are best known in europe

Why do u want to waste your time and money with them buddy

They dont even have one single enrolllment for line training ...and will never have

I would like to have all information that is out there on this Mazin Anasi. Good, bad or what ever.. Just need to know the truth.. and it is hard to discover!
Thanks!

aviator143 23rd Oct 2012 16:33

Hi,
I am pilot holding Canadian CPL and looking forward to get in airlines via line training. While searching online, I came across Skies website and contacted them about the programs. They provided me with 737 Line Training Program brochure and also would need the type rating to join LT. It is going to be expensive. Therefore, I want to know if it is worth it! Since I live in UAE, it is best for me to stay here and work. Anyone out there to guide me on SKIES and other alternate options!

thegreatflyer 25th Oct 2012 14:17

Notam ....skies

Dont Trust Them Buddy

Save Your Money And Spend Wisely

Rather Do your Tr Directly From Cae and Then Look For Line Training Options

Also Try Intercockpit And Oxford, Way Better Than Anyone

Dont Go For Them, They Have this Habit of Running Away With the Money

Even the Imaged Shown On skies are from their previous website Rj Flight Academy - Show Managed by Capt Mazin

Which i believe are no more traceable and bankrupt

wanaflyjet 26th Oct 2012 15:40

Hello guys, any one did his Airbus 320 type rating with skies in dubai ?
I am CPL ME IR with 274 h and looking for a good center to do my rating and maybe line training .... went trough each and every word ... some says good things and other says bad things ...

aviator143 27th Oct 2012 17:49

@thegreatflyer
I appreciate your help! I see in the previous posts that you are the only one speaking against skies. That is the reason now I have second thoughts about getting trained with skies. Is it possible for you to explain me what u have been through that make u think about them this way. The reason I need to know that is, as u might be aware about the culture in U.A.E. And me being female pilot, my parents want me to work here in U.A.E and skies is my only option to airlines. And if you would like to share your experience, it might be of lot of help to me making right decision! Your help will be highly appreciated.

TR at skies

hi guys, i have recently enrolled for TR with Skies...so far they are supportive and helpful, do you have more info for me? i heard they have professional instructors...what do you think?

wanaflyjet 28th Oct 2012 18:01

Hello RAK123, are you with RAK airways? which type aircraft you enroled for with skies? actually I am thinking to enrol with them for the airbus 320 ... to be honest I've been so confused after what I read here but my father contacted the CAE Dubai and JATS asking about them and the answer he got is to go for it and they are well known in both centers ... I aslo visited their page on face book and it looks wow :ok: so me and my father will fly to dubai to meet them in their office in dubai airport.
would you mind to tell me when are you planning to start your training ... maybe I will be your training partner

22k 28th Oct 2012 23:16

Here's a thought for you blokes.

Go out and get a job the normal way. Interviews and hardwork!! Not just handing over cash to pay to fly you morons.

Idiots. Jobs are meant to provide a source of income, not become an expense. You lot are truly gullible.

delay256 29th Oct 2012 01:58

wanaflyjet and aviatior check your PMs. Ive dealt with skies and other agents in the past, I dont agree with their schemes. You might end up getting 500 hours on type? then what? you'll be at 775 hours which is still not marketable. They can think of any reason to boot you out if you dont meet the standard and you would have wasted your money.

wanaflyjet 29th Oct 2012 18:37

hello all, I spoke to many students on face book and asked them about their experience with Skies ... to be honest non of them said any negative thing but all advised me to join Skies ... I also got to know that they are offering now line program with job in dubai itself.
I will let you know after our visit me and my father to their office, wish me a good luck :)

General Information

Hi All

I can imagine for those of you who desprately wanted to fly, its not easy to jump direct to certain type of aircraft, and some thrid party company may use the opportunities to make money too, make sure you search the company who ever listed here, if they are new, they may be good or may not be good, but last experience show that some have been disappointed, the school mention here or websites in this discussion DOES NOT have UAE GCAA Approval, they are merely brokers / Agent or third party

My suggestion to choose the training school are :

1. Ask your school about their Organisation Approval, either JAA / UAE GCAA TRTO, or FAA Part 142 for Aircraft Type related, if they have its good, else if they are not approved school, you may want to see what agreement they have in place with other training center for simulator is it Dry lease or wet lease
2. Once you identify the Training Certificate, see their Training specifications, what training specification they are authorise to perform, eg initial Type Rating, Recurrent, Instructor or examiner, if they have it means you are save, else ask if they have agreement with other TRTO
3. Once they have proper agreement, then you are save to do Type Rating Training
4. Whats next, off course you want to make sure you have the airlines to fly with, in this case, ask the TRTO or who ever offer you a job for flying, they have agreement with the airlines, offcourse you can ask them to delete the commercial part, but you need to see if these are in place.
5. If those item are not possible to obtain, and you want to try your luck, go ahead, but do it safely, eg: place money in phases, show them your account that you have fund, and you want to pay by phase, example if they are asking USD40K you may want to pay say 30% when you start ground school Type rating, another 30% second phase of the simualtor, then another 30% when you have letter offer to fly with the company.
6. If you are not sure, I recommend you contact directly the operator, as most of the operator in UAE have authority to accept any pilot with out type rating and the company may make specific agreement that if you do your type rating, you are willing to pay the operator extra due to missing his intructor for their line flyings etc

I hope this is a little informative

airbus320fan 27th Nov 2012 05:40

the post by the previous person is absolutely true with regards to Skies . Capt Mazin is a very helpful person and not to mention honest . I had a very good time doing my Tr with skies . Guys pls don fall for the BS people say about skies .Capt Mazin is still in touch with our batch of guys and very prompt in repling to any inquiry regarding anything even after more than 6months of our TR . It is a very professional place to complete ur training . Feel free to PM me if you guys need any details .

Airbus 320

helloooo again, everything went good, I am starting my training on the Airbus 320 with Skies Aviation by the second of Jan :)
I have one advise for you, dont belive what you read here, go and visit them, they are the best, I met many happy students, all of them told me Skies are the best to do the training with, thank you all and wish me a goodluck :O

wanaflyjet 10th Feb 2013 21:34

skies aviation

Hello Andrw, first of all I am not here to fight with you beause I dont know you or maybe i met you there but for sure and IF you did your training with them and it was not successful then there is one reason and only, you are one of these "pilots" who doesnt deseve to fly the Jets, skies instructors are very well known by names in Dubai, they are captains and examiners for major airlines in Dubai, no one will pass the program if he over loged his loogbook somewhere, skies will try and try and try to get you up to the mark where you will deserve to fly a pax jet, the rest is all on you if you work hard or not.

my advice for all the guys who read this, if you are not serious and you know yourself dont have a solid fundation in your cpl training then skies is wrong for you, go somewhere els to get your type rating done, these guys in skies are not joking, you will never pass with them if you are not a serious pilot.
i like the chamber of commerce .... man they are a TRTO not a supermarket :)

airbus320fan 11th Feb 2013 05:57

SKies

Guys i have to accept with what wannafly had posted . You must get trained by them to know how things happen with skies . There is no point reading these forums time and again coz obviously, there are gonna be guys who praise them for everything (right from training to their professionalism let alone their instructors whom i personally felt was a gift to get trained with ) and few guys claiming them to be bogus . From a personal point of view, these guys are very good . Don fall for all the nonsense people come up with on these blogs . Anyone with a descent internet connection and a heart full of craziness can defame an institute, but at the end of the day it is wannabes like us who keep missing out on some real good quality training . Keep it mind that as the name of the blog suggests,it is a rumour forum . Speak to a couple of guys ho have trained with skies to find out the good picture . Good luck.....

Skies Aviation

Old story this....when someone seems that speak against bad schools..magically in few moments hundred of people comes out....and they say that even cae itself Oxford intercockpit are nothing compare to this or that school...
What I've learned Who do that for sure speak about bad place and people....they try to cover what it's for real....be aware folks, you re might giving a lot of money to someone that can run away in a short period!trust to Who gives founded considerations...and at the moment Who did that had the right to say that is s#*t!

Well Please Answer this

why skies has their own set of instructors when cae has plenty of them

do u believe that cae instructors are underrated than what capt mazin has hired ???

Yusuf777 11th Jun 2013 13:53

@Mazin

Thanx for the information but I didn't find an academy better than Skies Aviation,, I think Skies Aviation is good place to start type rating and line training with them and have some flying hours.

I am Rated now !

Hi guys, i recently finished my rating with them, i personally didn't experience any of the bad things you say about them, my training went well and i have my endorsement ready in my license :)

The guy 1st Sep 2013 01:28

Skies-Aviation experience coming from someone who actually did get rated there.

I got “rated” some couple of months ago at Skies. When I took my decision to go to Skies Aviation, I didn’t take this forum seriously because I saw some users in the thread who ACTUALLY WORK for the place. Such as Prash07 and Mazin(THE OWNER, Mazin Ansari). Just imagine yourself going to an institution where THE OWNER goes on an online forum and posts that it’s better for you to go somewhere else. (I knew all this after I was in Dubai/too late) I will list the Pros and cons below;

Pros: The course is taught by experienced and well trained pilots who fly for good airlines such as Air Arabia(A320) and FlyDubai(737NG).

That’s it about the Pros. Now let’s do the Cons.

Cons;

1. Communicating with Skies Aviation via E-mail is very hard. They will hardly respond to any of your E-mails.(This is not because they are busy or something, this is solely because they are very unorganized)

2. You only get good TRI (Who are active pilots for Air Arabia/FlyDubai) IF you are lucky. Sometimes you may get some TRIs who are not active pilots. And just want to rush you through the course and they end up teaching you nothing.

3. The so called “LINE TRAINING”/“JOB CONTRACT” is a marketing trap. They just say that to have an advantage among other TRTO’s. These concepts are very vaguely mentioned in the contract. And it literally states if we don’t like you we will throw you out and not pay you back your money. I know of one person who is actually doing it and many others who paid for it but are being refused by Skies. In one case I heard they threw out a pilot after he paid almost 60K Euros. They never returned his money.

4. In some occasions, the owner (Mazin) will come and sit in the sim while you are doing your session. Without asking for your permission. He starts talking about how you should fly. Considering you have a licensed TRI in the sim, these sessions can be very high tension (especially if you are the kind of pilot who doesn’t like to listen to anyone other than the qualified instructor for the job) and you just lose 4 hours (Each session is 4 hours) of precious sim time.

5. There is NO food included in the package. They just use the Emirates Aviation College’s LOUNGE to justify for food. By Emirates policy you are allowed to use the pilot lounge ONLY during simulator sessions which happen in Emirates Aviation College’s MAIN building. (you may be not so lucky and end up in other simulator buildings which don’t have ANYTHING other than a sim)

6. The personnel who work for Skies Aviation are very unprofessional (except for 2 or 3 persons who actually know what they are doing) and you never know what kind of stupidity they will come up with. They TRY to be professional, but that “Attempt” can be VERY annoying.

7. The transportation from hotel to class (ground/CBT) and to simulator is NOT included in the package price and YOU have to pay for it. You may go by a taxi, bus, metro, or even walk which can be a pain in the ass walking in Dubai’s streets with the sun directly above your head and wearing your pilot uniform(Yes, they make you wear cheap uniforms). However, IF you save your receipts for ONLY simulator sessions, they will pay you the amount. That is ONLY IF you remembered to get a receipt after paying. If not, you don’t get the money back.

8. According to Skies, The rooms in the hotel which you are going to stay are shared rooms. But, sometimes they give you an apartment which has 2 rooms with 2 beds. And they assign that "apartment" to 4 pilots. Yes, that means you are going to have to SHARE THE BED with a total stranger who you have never met before, and sleep with him/her on the same bed.

9. The treatment you receive from Skies is going to be very bad. They don’t consider you a client but rather a “Student” who is dumb and “in need” for their "help". So you will get that kind of treatment accordingly.

10. IF YOU DON’T PAY, YOU DON’T FLY. They don’t care if the banks are closed, or if your bank is in different time zone. They JUST DON’T CARE. No matter how sensitive the flying is (it may be your check-ride) THEY WILL NOT LET YOU FLY UNTILL THEY HAVE THE MONEY. No matter how much you beg them for some time (Even just a day so you can coordinate the money transfer). I repeat, THEY JUST DON’T CARE.

11. Sending of documents to your CAA after completion of the course can take up to 3-4 months. And you have to pay for it. It is NOT included in the package.

12. The contract you sign is VERY clear and states IF they don’t see you “FIT”, they can (and will. Trust me) dismiss you from the course anytime they please.

This is a company which has changed its name 3 times in the past 2 years. When I got rated, they used to work with Twospeed Aviation. A very good TRTO in Europe. But, recently Twospeed broke it's ties with Skies(Skies has had other European TRTO partners in the past, but they never manage to stay with one). Skies Aviation is not a TRTO, they just pay the real TRTOs so that they can use their certifications. They are simply acting as an intermediate. If you ask me if I would do my type rating with Skies Aviation again, I would say definitely not. They are very expensive, very unprofessional. There are many other TRTO’s that are MUCH better than Skies Aviation on so many different levels. Don’t give up on your search and learn from other’s mistakes. Find a TRTO in Europe. I hear Cockpit4u is a good one, but I’ve never had any interactions more than E-mails. They seemed professional enough. Or Baltic Aviation. If I could describe Skies Aviation in one sentence, it would be; it is a mom and pop shop TRTO that is struggling with its mom and pop shop like problems. Don’t let the words like “Job” deceive you. Go somewhere that will actually deliver you for the amount of money you pay. Somewhere that will treat you like a professional pilot that you are.
