Vietjet

Does anyone know how Vietjet is doing? Are there any ex VNA guys working over there?
Thanks

capt. solipsist 15th Aug 2012 14:42

4 Captains resigned from VNA and joined VietJet.

UALSIC 18th Aug 2012 19:29

Due to Ms.Lan probably and the CXR cabin crews. :ok:

Leemankin 5th Sep 2012 00:27

Wouldn't advice you to transfer...if you're from VNA. You'll be getting less than the usual you're getting from VNA. A whole lot of disadvantages. PM me if you need more info.

airplanedriver 7th Sep 2012 08:17

Leemankin, i have PM'd u, please check and advice, thank you

capt. solipsist 9th Sep 2012 12:25

98% of the people have no airline experience, including the CEO. The Chief Pilot is a backbone-less weasel who would never stand up for the pilots and would kiss anybody's ass just to keep his position. He was just lucky because the previous guy couldn't live with the incompetence of the operations people and he was at the right place at the right time after miserably failing his recurrent sim in a Japanese carrier.

Stay away unless you need to be current. Then go, get the experience, work under the radar and cultivate your Plan B.

capt_j 11th Sep 2012 20:30

Any possibility for non-rated pilots?

PlanetEarth 12th Sep 2012 09:30

Looks that way:

airplanedriver 12th Sep 2012 11:50

They are looking for rated guys, IMO it looks a very unprofessional management team, have had some bad experiences with them so far, unless ur really desperate, stay away.

PlanetEarth 12th Sep 2012 11:59

Did you read the bottom ad?

http://vietjetair.com/UserFiles/imag...ong-Tap-su.png

I know several flight instructors who have just been hired with VietJet. Only piston time

airplanedriver 12th Sep 2012 12:18

Hmmm didnt see this, i have been working with the recruitment company that's working with them. Kinda shows they are extremely desperate for pilots, NOT the place if ur rated and experienced, maybe ok for some freshers, who need the rating and accumulate time before they switch somewhere else:)

PlanetEarth 12th Sep 2012 14:27

Yea, 5 year bond though

capt. solipsist 14th Sep 2012 04:12

It is bad enough when an airline is run by incompetents (imagine the Chief Pilot e-mailing everyone that OM Part B is not required? and was of course scolded by QA for this), but it's even worse when a BANKER tries to run the show.

For those without options, go and get qualified, and be more marketable.

Anyway, the girls should be attenuating factors :ok:

Vietjetwannabe

Since the latest set of Skype interviews, they had offered some candidates screening dates and put them on hold a few days later. Does anybody have a update on the type rated f/o recruitment and why they were put on hold. Was there a last minute freeze on hiring . Also any information on the f/o sim screening and eval, what to expect.
Thanks in advance

Hi all,

I just need some advice from the right people here, I sent my application for vietjet in June but still havent heard from them yet, whats the other way to check the progress of my application,

I know for some of you Viet jet isnt the place but I'm only a CPL/IR holder with 500hrs no jet experience.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

Slasher 17th Sep 2012 09:59

...Having applied to them once I know they're located on the 9th floor of that
shopping plaza at the roundabout opposite Tan Son Nhat but I've never been
there myself. Might be worth a personal visit and just drop in with yer resume
and see if you can meet up with their personnel bloke.

Like another poster said it should be used as a fill-in job till a real one turns
up. I dropped my application once I found out my present job (such as it is)
was much more realer than theirs. I did want to return to Sai Gon as I had a
total ball there in a prev employ yonks ago - but decided against it once I'd
found out its crap pay and management.

Good luck anyway. Sai Gon is a craphole - with some parts a bit less crappy
than others - but a VERY enjoyable and dirt cheap one to live and party! :)

tigerace69 19th Sep 2012 05:16

don't even bother

:ugh::ugh::ugh: "dont even bother" sending your resume, doing the interview and assessment.... you'll be appalled by how incompetent the management are, i was hoping i didn't join this airline, i will be leaving soon...just so you know, it's full of S@#T!!! And beware you're airplanes (A320) has a lot of snags, maintenance is as crap as the management. If only i knew before i joined, i wouldn't have dared.!!!!! If you have other options. Go to other places and other airlines!!

Cheers mates..

Cadets vs senior FO

Latest news from Vietjet for the 20 Dec F O is that Vietjet left them hanging because a Italian Trto offered cadets that were a lot cheaper. Thats fine business is business but they left us all hanging waiting for a sim date, now they don't answer emails or phone calls. If they would have been straight toward that would have been acceptable.

tigerace69 19th Sep 2012 12:25

:} a whole lot of other options...mind if i tell you? Tiger airways, Hongkong airlines, JetStar Asia singapore are way better than this so called airline, their operations is a total mess, they don't even have a certified dispatcher, and just recently when inspected by Civil Aviation Authority (CAAV) of Vietnam, one pilot got suspended for a month after they found out, there's no MEL in the plane, only MMEL, and there's no approved Operations Manual Part B....So imagine this, they printed a copy paste OM from another airline which is totally not in conformity with their company SEP (Safety and Emergency Procedures). Don't come here!!!!:ugh::ugh::ugh: you have been FOREWARNED!!!!! :=:=

Air Tama 20th Sep 2012 08:37

Dear Tigerace69, do you know if some Italians fresh A320 rated are flying for Vietjet Air? If so, do you know what their profile looks like (i.e: License and hours on type or not or jet experience)?!! Thanks for all the infos you are sharing tough!!!

Happy landings!!

syukri 20th Sep 2012 14:20

How bout their neighbor Jetstar Pacific? Are they any better? Looks like they are well-established (better fleet size) but found very little about them on the net..

tigerace69 20th Sep 2012 18:15

@air Tama, can't profile the new cadets, as I've seen only their names, about 8/10 cadets are local vietnamese, however, they're mostly EU/australian/british immigrants, the rest are europeans but has endorsements from other VietJet pilots...they recently have a lot of applicants, basically zero time on type or less than 300 hrs on type...but never seen anyone fly on line, the last 10 or so cadets/FO's are still doing OBS and license processing....
Currently they have 3 a320's and would be adding 2 more this year. But management is in no hurry to hire and train pilots. Their organizational skills are zero, their understanding on how to run an airline is also zero, so they don't listen to pilot's advice and the chief pilot's plans and recommendations are mostly disapproved, everyone (pilots) is disappointed with the way management is handling the operations....so we are all left hanging in the air, and wondering how this airline will survive!!!...maybe it's a vietnamese style of management which is practically "Trial and Error" type of management. They don't have a business/airline model to follow, so they are experimenting I guess!!!????

airplanedriver 22nd Sep 2012 09:27

Yes Syukri, i'm too trying very hard to get info regarding their recruitment status!! Nothing so far, keeping my fingers crossed, its a much safer and reliable place, 70% owned by VNA, so its not gonna close down anytime soon, and i heard some good reviews from ppl who had worked there previously.

LindbergB767 22nd Sep 2012 11:56

Hi for the time being Jetstarpacific do not need anybody. they have crews for 4 aircraft and they only have 3. The next one should arrive soon
The last B737 should go in Dec or Feb 2013 not sure yet ,,then some of those guys will do the transition
They also talk of 2 more A320 in Nov. BUT far from sure
If they get those 2 they will need more crews
So people's interested should send a resume anyway just in case

airplanedriver 23rd Sep 2012 06:48

hey Lindberg, thanks for that info, are u working there? Can u PM me with more details?

4runner 26th Sep 2012 06:11

I can confirm the italian thing and guys being left hanging. The guys that were given company paid slots in Toulouse were experienced F/O's with 3000 hours plus in jet and were given the wave off. They were replaced by low to zero time Euro guys that paid for their sim slots. P2F.....not the best candidate, just the one with more $$$...

VietJet Job

Dear All,

I appreciate the issues and problems at this company. I need somewhere to hire me so that I can add some B737 flight hours to my new type rating. Maybe I stay and maybe I go later but I would like to get on here. Can someone offer CONTACT information? The email address on the site simply bounces back my emails undelivered.

I would appreciate your assistance at this time.

Respectfully,
Jasper

737's will be history by end of the year,:*

TheLucumon 27th Sep 2012 08:09

Hi Guys,

This looks really scary :eek::eek::eek:

I wonder how long an airline can be operated that way.

Hopefully, the management will react after the latest event :O

TANUA 27th Sep 2012 22:26

JasperF

This thread is "Vietjet" but some have offered advice on Jetstar Pacific who are a sound operation. They operate some B737's but not for much longer. If you want work with them it will have to be on the A320.

Vietjet do NOT operate the B737 only the A320.

Looks like I need to get A320 type now.

VietJet Visit

Good day,

All jokes aside... does anyone have any contact info for Viet Jet? I will be in Viet Nam nest week and I want to do a drop in visit. Thank you.

Jasper

Luke SkyToddler 6th Oct 2012 09:45

Have you actually got a brand new B737 rating and now you want to buy an A320 one AS WELL??!!

Is that seriously how low this :mad:ing industry has sunk to, or have you just got more money than brains?

TANUA 6th Oct 2012 11:22

Google shows address as -

HCMC Office: 9th Floor, Hai Au Building
39B Truong Son St., Tan Binh Dist., HCMC

Tel: +84 8 3547 1866 / Fax: +84 8 3547 1865

-HOWEVER- I believe they have moved to the Parkson Shopping Center which is a multi story shopping Center that you can see from the International Terminal-only about a 3-5 minute walk. Bar 5 in District 1 is a haunt for pilots in the evening or somewhere close by.

You appear to have more money than common sense:ouch:

tknapp 6th Oct 2012 19:33

What is everyone doing about health insurance since Paramount doesn't provide any?

Flappo 8th Oct 2012 06:54

Paramount provides access to a pilot funded health insurance.
