Hi guys, does anyone have any information on the Asiana 767 FO Roster, Pay, Interview and Sim or is it all similar to the a320 chaps.

Thank you

Just trying to give advice. Consider carefully joining any Korean airline as an FO.

TugaFly 17th Dec 2016 14:18

Why is that ni si ni no? Any advice is welcome.

Well, try looking up in this forum regarding being an FO in Asia. Specially in Korea. Just sayin you should carefully gather as much info as you can before making the move.
Asiana is not know being a friendly FO airline. Captains lack of crm, they expect you to be just a subordinate and keep your mouth shut at all times.

Also consider the option of not being upgraded no matter how smooth operator you are or how many years you have been there.

Good luck anyhow

In the last ten days, Asiana have had a punch up in the flights deck of a 380 between the two FOs at Incheon before departing, one was then sent to hospital while the other was sent flying to New York - how bad CRM can you have between pilots and pilots and the company?

Also consider that at least at the main competitor, Korean Air, they are going on strike at present.

Hi guys, it looks like Asiana is looking urgently for 767 FO's.

Any information on Rosters, Pay, Accomodation and Routes flown?

What's the best Agency to apply with?

Thanks

Asiana screening A320

Sup Guys. I just had a screening in Asiana Airlines A320 F/O. Unfortunately failed. Just tell you everything I had. I arrived at Incheon Airport but I had to go to Mayfiled hotel which is in Gimpo Airport.

I bought a ticket at Incheon airport 7500 won one way. The bus is good and comfortable. I took me about 40 minutes to get to the Mayfield hotel. Overall the hotel is good. Big room.

The day when I arrived it was in the morning I wanted to sleep. So when I checked it in the hotel I slept about 4-5 hours it was ok for me coz I wanted something to eat I went to the Lotte Mall which is not far from the hotel there is shuttle bus goes from the hotel to the mall. Anyway I had my dinner in that mall and went back to the hotel. Read some stuff before screening.

So the next day I went for screening which is about 3 minutes on a taxi from the hotel. Screening was in the morning so I arrived early. I was with a suite and waiting for the checker the local captain who was my PM and a first officer from Taiwain who also came for screening.

Anyway the checker said everything what is gonna be on the sim check. The first one was Chinese guy from Taiwan. Then me. Basically it was wind shear after take off, slats and flaps locked, Eng fail after T/O and after that it was circle to land.

All approaches were in RKPK and RKPC. The checker guys was really shouting at me. Personally I wanted to kick that guy. But I could do nothing. All the time he was shouting, his English was horrible, trust me. About 60% I didn't understand.

And one thing I wanna tell you that there was a girl from HR I think and that checker guys was talking to her in Korean language. I mean no offense but you should show some respect to other people who don't speak Korean at all I didn't like that. All the time they were smiling and at the end he says you guys fail. Over all I just wanna say that if you like that someone clean his chose with face go for it.

We've got plenty of ex Asiana captains flying here in China...

TugaFly 1st Jan 2017 12:28

Happy New Year guys.

Can seomeone confirm the 767 rosters, how many days off per month and how many are consecutive.

Is it normal for two different agencies to offer different days off?

Thanks

Seriously what is up with pilot uniforms ? It looks really really silly!

Alloy 25th Apr 2017 07:16

The Asiana pilot uniforms remind me of US park rangers and Yogi bear!

Applied for Asiana B777 First Officer position through Crew Resources Worldwide and was selected to continue with the application process even though I only have 467 hours total time and 247 hours of time on type. Is this some kind of mistake?

Double check to see if the position being offered is as a flying first officer rather than a relief first officer. A relief first officer merely sits up front during flight without performing departure or landing tasks. Most airlines, that you may apply with in the future, exclude IRO time.

Working with Asiana Airlines.

Hello.

I´m a first officer of a320 with 3000 hours. I would like to know the experiences of pilots on Asiana, I have heard that the enviroment on the cockpit is pretty tough, since there is a lot of power distance between the captain and the co pilot, also I have heard, that koreans pilots, doesnt, use CRM and check captains are terrible instructors.

I would like to know if this is true, any pilot can give me opinion of working on asiana? thanks!!

Hi, i understand that you probably need a place to go as a First Officer and looking at the prospect of Joining Asiana. But if there are other place where you can join as an FO with a possibility of upgrade. I would strongly suggest that instead. They do have Foreign FOs here but there's just no career progression available for you.
The Locals are kind if you get to know them. And if you have the right attitude to adapt to their culture. Otherwise, it can also be a tough life.
