If that is the case why did Capt MooTwo tell me to visit the club in early 2010. Bloody waste of precious time !!

And SFC is grossly overpriced !

Moral of the story..take what some of these folks tell you with a pinch of salt..especially when you are dealing with some of the FTOs from across the other side of the Causeway..they may tell you one thing and it turns out the other way..:}

So, it wouldn't be wise to plan for my PPL in Malaysia then. I thought 2010 would be the year, I get my license. But with all this uncertainty, its better to continue dreaming about it. hahaha...:ugh:

KLIFA in Senai might offer PPL if there is enough demand. So, call them to register interest and get your friends to do the same.
They will be able to help obtain the relevant visa too.

Alternatively, a PPL in Australia will be fairly quick if you are willing to do it full time. Only 45hr minimum. Assuming you are willing and able to fly 2hr/day average, that will be 23 days, add 30% extra days for weather and other challenges, that's about 30 days. Cater extra time beforehand to get your SPL issued (you can't solo without it).

I just got a FAA PPL. If you can, do get a FAA or CASA and don't waste time in Johor with those fly-by-night itchy backsides.

So what is good when it is cheap. You get crashes once in a while. FAA requires CFI and CFII to have CPL first. In Malaysia, AFI is through recommendation after 100 hours PIC. So you get one of the "influencing" guy to help you, then you get your AFI to do business. DCA needs to maintain safety and keep their country record clean. Bad elements come here to brag and boast about their club so you got to be careful of conman.

Capt MooTwo is waiting for something to happen, that's why he asks you to wait and wait. He is at the wrong place and wrong time too!

So instead of waiting, make a good decision and get your PPL.

I support BimBimBah!

I always encourage people (especially to those Malaysians) to get overseas licence then, return to Malaysia to continue flying.

Else if, Malaysians can start flying in any flying club in Malaysia first, then, join the flying school upon completion of PPL.

The progress will be much much much faster. Also, never ever go into a flying school without a licence.

Things are always changing in Malaysia.

There are literally hundreds of flying schools/aero clubs in Australia where you can do a PPL. Here's a directory of most of them, with links to their websites.

hi Markzai

I was just searching information regarding "Horizon Aviation" in Boston . I am very interested in joining there and the added advantage to it is my sis lives in Boston. So during the course duration i could stay with her. I did see from the post that you have some friends in Horizon aviation. I would like to know about the school, the quality if training ,and a general feedback of your friend experience in that school. Hope you could help me out. Thanks for your time.
