Any info? Saw the job listed on Wasinc, and I have time in the ERJ170 but no PIC time on type yet. Was thinking about applying in the future as they get started flying, given that all goes well. Heard they have ordered 50 aircraft.

Immediate need for EMB-190 Captains

We are pleased to announce immediate openings for Embraer 190 Captains for ex-pat assignments in Beijing and/or Xian, China.

Flying for: Kunpeng Airlines

Minimum requirements:
• 300hours PIC on EMB-190 or EMB-170
• 3000 hours total time
• First Class medical

Domicile: Beijing and/or Xian, China (Working VISA provided after your arrival in China - any nationality can apply)
Total Compensation: $110,500 (net)
Minimum Guarantee: 90 hours
Contract Term: First contract: 2 years. Subsequent contracts: 1 year.
Benefits:
• Pay includes: Base pay: $6800/mo, Housing allowance: $1200/mo, bonus pay: $375/mo.
PLUS: $10,000 per year travel allowance
• Worldwide Medical/Dental insurance
• Life insurance and Accidental Death and Disability insurance will be provided
• 9 days guaranteed off per month
• 30 days personal leave per year

Additional information:

• Kun Peng Airlines is a joint venture operating under the Shenzhen Airlines group
• Chinese income taxes will be paid by the company. U.S. taxes will be based on off-shore
(expat) status.
• International Medical Insurance Coverage is provided for you and your family anywhere
in the world.
• Travel Allowance. The travel allowance can be used at your discretion, and is not a
reimbursement plan.
• Housing Allowance will provide for a western-style furnished apartment around 180-200 sq.
meters (about 1900 sq. ft. with 3BR 2 BA). Housing assistance will include on-site property
visits and assistance with lease negotiations.
• Interested persons will be considered for upgrade to B-737NG service at parent company
(Shenzhen Airlines) upon completion of contract.
• Route System. Kun Peng Airlines will be based in Beijing and/or Xian, and initially include
routes to 16 regional airports.

Hi, the company will get 50 E-190's beginning June. For now they said that they will move all the CRJ captains to the left seat as the aircrafts are coming. But I am sure in the next 6 months to a year they will need much more. Fly as much as you can, and when you get to 1000SIC- apply and they may take you with only SIC on the type if you have 121 PIC on another type. :ok:

What would be the chance of my minimums with this company?

1 year experience as a ground instructor training new-hires, upgrades, & recurrent pilots (121 airline)

Do you think any of the above-listed experience would qualify for a position with Kunpeng, or are they very strict on their mins? Thanks to any insight.

Seems like they really need type-rated individuals, but it's hard to believe that there will even be a surplus of E170/E190 type-rated pilots at this point in time that would be applying.

Does anyone know where these expat contractors are getting E-Jet pilots? I was under the impression that there weren't that many of us worldwide. As far as the U.S. goes, regional operators of that plane aren't talking about furloughs. The pay at RAH and Compass isn't great (decent by regional standards), but it doesn't seem sufficiently inferior to the expat jobs to justify leaving in significant numbers. Besides, a US regional pilot with any experience in the industry (i.e. a 170 captain) would be wary about going half way around the world to work for the Antichrist of the US regional world (Ornstein).

To add to the previous comment, there are also several positions available for ERJ 170/190 instructors. Of course, the min requirements are a type rating and time in type.

It seems as if there aren't any pilots or instructors...... where are they coming from?

I thought Mesa was no longer part of Kunpeng.

Schedules? Examples of rotations? All day-trips and back to domicile?

General working conditions and ability to actually get back to the U.S. regularly?

Just applied to WASInc., we'll see what happens. Getting furloughed from E190 USAirways but PIC time is on E145.

Any info appreciated!! Not ready to dive in, but had to apply to see if I get a bite and take it from there.

i'm in the same boat... 2000tt with 1000 sic turbine.. I even have a PIC type in the A320 but only 200 right seat hours in it... I can't get any bites from the far east

It seems as though there are only a handful of pilots out there with type ratings and time in type, but currently in the international job market.

They would have a much easier time staffing eager senior F/O's who would be ready for a left seat in a short period of time, than waiting for disgruntled captains to quit and decide to move to china.

I got a call from WASinc. the same day I applied! wasn't ready for that-anybody have info or where to look? Not easy to find!

You got a response that fast because it's hard to fill that position. Doesn't pay enough or give enough time off to justify going all the way to the other side of the planet.

Not to mention that most of us who are qualed for the DECA slots have families and such that won't uproot and move. There's one or two I'm looking into, but this one isn't one of them, as I have to have enough time off to get back to the states regularly.

I did a search a while back on all the established sites, willflyforfood, here, flightinfo, propilotworld, airlinepilotcentral, and no one really has the info on the interview process, actual flight schedules, days off, living conditions in the "western style furnished apartment", etc. There's definitely westerners over there, but no one's talking.

Good luck to you. At 26, you're young enough to probably not have the responsibilities of family that many of us have or maybe young enough to have a wife who is young enough to see this as an adventure, rather than the "uprooting of her whole support structure". Enjoy while you can!

Did you applied for E190 Captain position or for CRJ captain?
I have the same situation, I have E190 FO flight time only. I'm not sure if apply for Captain E190 or rapid-upgrade on CRJ. Do you have any idea on rapid-upgrade contract for CRJ mentioned on Wasinc?

I applied for the E190 Captain position. Don't know about the CRJ postions. And I'm assuming he called me for the E190 position since I have zero CRJ experience. I was walking out to dinner when he called me, and I wanted to have more time to talk to him. He said he'd call Mon, so I'll post my results if he calls again.

One of the first things I noticed was the pay was the same for CRJ and E190, which I thought the 190 would pay more b/c it holds more...Also, I read on another forum about the work visa issues in China taking months-where you can't fly and numerous other contract violations-but that was only 1 post on 1 board-info is difficult to come by-but I'll keep trying....

I was very surprised to hear something that fast, even if it is China. They officially advertise "300 PIC on E190", which I don't have-only a PIC type rating on it. However, I have a couple thousand E145 PIC, so... I don't know...I'll see what is offered, do more research and take it from there.

I still have a job till at least october and I just started sending apps, so I'm not quite ready to jump to China tomorrow.....

No matter what happens, I'll post my results of the upcoming conversation and ANYONE who knows something, please post!!
