Airport problems - Thailand

Does anybody know anything more about this?

A number of Thai Airways International pilots complained about safety conditions at 3 regional airports in Thailand. They have been threatened with dismissal by the Ministry of Transport, which called the claims "exaggerated". Thai President Kanok Abhiradee was instructed to investigate the claims, and pending investigation, suspend the pilots. If the complaints were deemed to tarnish the image of the country or airline, the pilots would be dismissed.
The complaints included a bumpy runway caused by rain damage, tall rubber trees obscuring final approach visibility, and a runway too short for 737-400 operations.
The MoT said there was no safety problem with the bumpy runway - but would repave it anyway...
The MoT said the rubber trees weren't too tall - though some tourist groups have cancelled flights out of oncern for the visibility.
The pilot group has instituted its own solutions, refusing to land on the bumpy runway if it is wet, and limiting operations near the rubber trees to daylight only.

I believe the runway in question is around 1300M long, so hard landings possible the norm, regardless of surface texture.
Anyone got any more info on this thread?

Further to the point, I have seen A300's and 330's landing on this baby ! Its quite spectacular, especially from the opposite end of the landing / departing traffic.
