Question GA in Singapore

Hi there,

Does anyone have info on renting SIA FLYING CLUB(C-172) planes to fly to Malaysia for a short vacation? What are the procedures to get clearances from SIN airspace into MAL airspace?

Thank you.

Suggest you speak to SIAFC directly. You can ask for Instructor Darshan Singh @ +65 6483 1573. Might cost you an arm and a leg...so don't say i didn't warn you!

Also, it might be difficult hiring aircraft there if you don't have a Singapore PPL...

Thanks guys,

Yeah, I also heard about having to convert the FAA Private to CAAS one even before you start the engine alone. And I know rentals are super-high even when I was with the YFC flight programme. But it would be great fun to fly to m'sia or something. Do any of you know private owners of Cessnas or Pipers in SIN? Thank you all for your input. CHeers

Johor Flying Club would be the cheaper option. You can check out their rates from their website. Plus you won't have to worry about CIQ if you're only flying in Malaysia.

Cheers,

Smiling Monkey,

Yes Sir, I was looking at Johor Flying CLub with great interest. A schoolmate of mine(also S'porean) are looking forward to fly around during our vacation in 2 weeks. What's CIQ? I wrote to the club but they never replied. Thanks.
