Hi guys , this is my first time being here . Its a pleasure to be part of this community . I am a cadet pilot in india , about to start my flying in the cessna 172 . My academy has instructed us to buy headsets . I dont know which one to buy . Can anyone help me regarding this . Bose is way above my budget , i was looking at david clarks , but i have no idea regarding that as well .
plus any other advice regarding flying would help me a lot . Thank you .

Get a David Clark one x if it’s within your budget. If not, then a David Clark H10. One x would be useful even after your training is complete, specially if you end up on a turboprop as your first job or instruction. Both are cheaper than Bose and built like a tank.

I did all my flight training with a very basic headset from a no-name brand, probably worth $100-150. I don't see an immediate reason to buy anything fancier for flight training on a C172. It's not going to damage your hearing if you don't have ANC and a very basic headset will suffice. You can always upgrade once you start making a living with flying.

Try DC pro x2 if it's in your budget.
Light weight, quite compact, nice quality, clear mic than others, ANC, no disadvantage.
It's suitable for both GA and bigger jets, cause it has ANC and quite light to wear, no pressure on your head.
BTW, I got it at 750$usd.
