Vietjet or ME gig
Hi guys,
Wanted suggestion for 2000+ hrs 320 time and ATPL how will be vietjet for the money and lifestyle purpose?? Wife and no kids, Will ME widebody gig will be better or the money and flying in vietnam??
I understand money is decent enough in ME as well but looks like not as good as vietjet. Command still 1.5 yrs to go in present airline.

If you are after money, I would stay where you are and get command + 500hrs on type then go to china. Just type “Viet” on avharald, and see how challenging it would be flying a narrow body in the region. You might end up in custody.
I flew in the middle east and it will certainly not so much of joy, but if I were to choose between Vietjet and the middle east, I would go to the latter.

18 months to the left seat - wait it out, get your upgrade and move on after 2 years as a Captain. The exception is if you want to go to a legacy airline such as BA or American then join as soon as you can and get on the seniority list which is far more important than previous command time.
IMHO: Wait it out and get some command time. FO hrs 'only' just isn't a a great basis for making a move right now. [Don't get stuck in a downturn, out of work and with FO time only.] The best contracts are for Captains, and command time gives better choice and agility. Plus, it's just gonna be more satisfying.
Sit back and enjoy a couple more years!
