KAL A321 recruitment
Does any one know when KAL will take delivery of their A321LR neo’s ? Also does anyone have any information regarding crewing this fleet with expats or not ?

KAL’s 321 sim has been delivered and assembled in their sim building but appears not yet to be in regular use unlike the 737Max sim.
As regards aircraft arrival, I’m not sure, but latest I heard was start of next year, but really not sure on this point (Perhaps continuing 737Max grounding may change this?) I’m guessing pay will be similar to 737 fleet. All of KAL’s airliner fleet have at least some expats apart from the 787 and A220 at present, I presume they and the 321s will have expats eventually, indeed the agencies have made tentative enquirees in the past to interest for transition to the new 321s.

KAL 321
A321 will arrive early next year.
Generally speaking, when the company hires foreign pilots is not looking for their knowledge or expertise.
New airplane types are always first flown by koreans, later on when the fleet is well settled, they may hire foreigners.
A380 was received during 2011, in 2016 some foreign KAL pilots had the chance to transfer to the fleet. Until 2019 no one from outside was hired.
A220 started operations during 2018, so far only korean pilots flying this aircraft type.
I guess that it will take few years for foreigners to join A321.
