Business class upgrade Chinese airlines

Does someone know if the Chinese airlines in particular China Eastern and Air China do upgrade pilots to business class similar like in the US some airlines do on normal ticket. Of course after asking very politely and being nice.

Thanks a lot.

If you present a CAAC badge you may stand a chance.

Don't think it happens much at all with any of the Chinese carriers. Try Korean Air, they fly you in business.

A waste of time outside China. They use local contractors for check-in so Chinese licences mean nothing to them. I found that domestic flights are about 50& successful but that was a couple of years ago.

Maybe it was just because I am old.

Chinese carriers charge a lot for an upgrade but the purser will normally allow you to sit up front if you work for that company only. I and my wife flew business quite a few times by knowing the crew or a connection.
