737-900 - area below emergency exit door getting hot in-flight

Flew on a Jet Airways 737-900 today, seated at the overwing emergency exit row. I felt the area below the exit door (above the bottom vent) was quite hot during the flight (rest of the door area was fine), and cooled off after landing. Any engineers have a PoV if this is normal? Thanks

Overwing exit surrounds on 737s are heated so the are not frozen when they may be needed.

Interesting. But I don't remember that fact from the 737-200. Perhaps I was just unaware but can you confirm if this is for all models?

It’s been a seriously long time since I have worked a 200, so I couldn’t really say 100% that they were heated also. I would have thought some kind of anti icing was required. I do remember the sound proofing between the interior trim and the fuselage were always soaking wet when we stripped them out.
