AAHHHH the Dives
I spent nearly three years there on the twotter, currently there are 2 players MAT (essentially crewed by Borek from Canada) and TMA that crews expats and locals.
Typical third world merry-go-round with regard crew/licencing/living arangements.
There are some outstanding labour issues between on of the operators and the local and govenment.
Generally though I had a great time the flying was fun, the night life when based on a resort was great, concentrate on multiple renewals........
You do a lot of hanging out with the other expats, the pool @ Club Med, the Bar @ Bandos, Beach Parties @ Ari Beach ooohh better not forget the Spa @ Kurumba the list goes on, it is actually where a few of us have met our wives & partners.
Just remember, "Guide is good, Guest is best".

I have bags of hours on the Twotter as a land plane, is it difficult to transition to floats, and what is the best way, or where is the best place to do it. Would they consider someone like myself.

The Beautiful Maldives
Hi, I went to the Maldives twice, both times with the RAF, once for a fortnight at RAF Gan in the Addu Atoll, to work but as there was nothing to do it was like a holiday! The next time was on 01/03/1960 again at Gan, now for all of you aviators this is not how to miss the 8000' runway by 1.5 miles. Read about the Hastings 'landing' in the sea with undercarriage down and locked on http://splashdown2.tripod.com
Moderate, Modest & Mild.
Not guilty on that count, Slasher - my best effort there was brushing up on Russian, one moonlit night in the clear water.
Ahh, that bar & disco on Bandos, what a great spot after a hard day of scuba diving, swimming, and night fishing, or a trip across to Male on the putt putt.
Now here's something noteworthy - I haven't read one post that has had a bad word to say on this topic.
Certainly is a Paradise out there on the Maldives!!
