Sinpapore WSSS from AMML via WA???

Anyone know why an SIA 777 passed over Mt Gambier on way to Singapore just now and down at 28000 30000 feet?
I first saw it on my adsb in then saw if go over loud and fast at 28000 so checked FR24 and find its flight plan is slightly North of Perth then up the coast to Singapore.
not landing that I can tell not a great circle route in any sense of the imagination why not traditional route Mildura ASP North West?

Could be rerouted via PER or maybe that SIA flight planning computations calculate that route consumes less fuel than continuously punching into a jetstream that at the moment may be lying along the normal route.

As you can see they would have got a great kick in this wind. I note Qantas and Jetstar took the same route. A few PER-SINs looked like they got it done in 4hrs. Impressive!

Got to keep the accountants happy!

The said accountants would be less than happy that the jet has too turn around and go back to Perth though
