Job search; No jet time 6000+ hours on turboprop

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here is willing to help.

I have about 6000+ flight hours on turboprop (ATR42 and DHC8 Q400). Captain (39year old) on DHC8 Q400 with about 3000+ PIC. No jet time whatsoever. JAA licence, ATPL of course. European national carrier currently with level 6 english and medical 1.
Willing to pay for type rating.
Looking for a job anywhere preferablly far east on left seat jet.

Anything out there?

Thank you for your time.

Jet Airways or SpiceJet (Indian Carriers)

Hey Joe,

You can consider one of the following 2 Indian Carriers.

Careers | SpiceJet Airlines

SpiceJet has a fleet of 14 Q400s. As a Q400 captain i believe you should be able to command a excellent pay package and benefits and you would be based in New Delhi, Hyderabad or Chennai.

Jet Airways - Careers

JetAirways also has ATRs in in its fleet and they might consider you as well and its the more stable of the 2 airlines . . even more so after 24% stake has been acquired by UAE based Etihad Airways.

Cheers

Hi mate!

Sorry about it, but I don't think you'll get a jet left seat based on a fresh TR and your TP experience...It's more likely they'll hire you for RHS for some time.
Don't know your age but this could be a factor as well.
I'd keep sending CVs to as much as possible prospective employers.

Good luck mate!

Not a chance at Ethiopian without 500 hours B737 command time. They'll let you fly the Q400 though.

The last I checked, Ethiopian requires recent time on type (12-18 months). Sim check is not enough.
