change of airline in China after end of contract
Hi,
Some pilots and agencies told me it is hard to change airline when finishing a contract.
Are there any set procedure for pilot who want to change to other Chinese airline when they complete their (says 3-year) contract .
Thank you.

It can and does happen but make sure you fulfill your initial contract ie don't try and leave early. My advice is don't tell them you are changing just tell them you are leaving China all the while behind the scenes you are interviewing and screening for your new position. Expect to lose several months salary during the change of jobs and also most Chinese airlines keep you on 70% training pay for up to 1 year. You will need multiple documents from your previous employer in order to get a new job so don't make enemies ie don't burn the place down when you leave.
Recent experience shows variation between 12 months for a move between two of the big 3 carriers having completed contract but not leaving on the best terms, down to 1 day if leaving on good terms.
