Conversion ICAO - MCAA - Maldives

Hi Guys

Hopefully im in the right part,
Im looking at the possibility of transferring my NZ CAA License or CASA License to a Maldivian FCL (dont want to try applying for anything till I know its possible) I have looked on their website, which seems to indicate its possible, even of 2015, but talking to their own Licensing officer, I was unable to make headway. does anyone know if this route is possible?
it seems to help, I have 700 hrs, 500PIC and an IR that can be made current.

I heard a rumor they were only accepting EASA licenses which would call a halt to my plan.

thanks guys
