Depends how you put it. When I first joined aviation 2 years ago the exam room at SAA was full of foreigners taking air law, ops procedures, and the A320 tech papers, all bright eyed and bushy tailed because they are joining tigerair.

Now 2 years on, a total freeze on hiring, and quoting a captain from Tigerair, "we ain't hiring bro, we're firing". Their cadets got hit hard, as well as the guys in the recruitment pool.

But seeing the way they are reacting now, it's like an injured man with gangrene on his arm. If he cuts off the problem giving arm quick enough, he might not die from the impending infection and make a full recovery.

It ain't just Tigerair, jetstar asia is taking a beating too. Let's see who survives and who dies.
