What news from Sri Lankan?

How are things in SL for expats Capts on the 320?
I'm told $500 per month will get you decent accommodation. How true is that?
Cheers
Stig.

Sri Lanka accommodation

Yes anywhere between 500 to 600 USD you can get a decent accommodation close to airport. Colombo town is quite far from the airport and in Colombo accommodation is for about 1000 USD

Still a Going Concern

They had their AGM recently. The balance sheet makes interesting reading:

Over the past year
  • The carried forward loss doubled from USD 170 million to USD 340 million
  • The total equity declined from a negative USD 17 million to a negative USD 90 million.
  • The break even load factor increased to 90.5%, while the overall load factor was just under 70%. The last year they broke even was 2004.

Yes I believe so,and housing is not provided. But the SKYPE screening seems to be a bit slow.It was sch a week ago, then nothing, now this week maybe if they can spare a chief pilot to do it.

If anyone has any more positive results with them please share.

Hi Intruder.
The agency I was talking to have said that they are suspending putting forward captains because there are enough in the system. Apparently F/Os are still required.
There is another agency just renewed their ad for Capts on the27th, so it's anybody's guess.

Good luck!
