Any Canadians at Air China, info requested

Hi, Im interested in a Vancouver Base A330 with Air China, (Parc) and looking for feedback on rosters, days off, taxes, commuting etc.

I am also interested to know if the pilot based in Vancouver will have to be Canadian or not.

I suppose he or she would not enjoy the tax free status as Canadian, even if the employer is a foreign company ?

I would say there would be absolutely no doubt that the base in Vancouver would be for Canadians only. The base in Melbourne is Australians only so there you go.

What made you think they could get a Vancouver base if your not Canadian?

Just asking if non-Canadian would be eligible to Vancouver base. You make sense as hiring Canadians in Canada may simplify paper work.

Even when based in "civilized" countries, I would not trust Chinese business style !

YVR base is fine for non Canucks. I spent 3 years based there with Air China and had no problems and did not pay Canadian tax.
