Air Carnival & Turbo Aviation new airlines on the way

Two New companies have applied with the Ministry of civil aviation for the grant of scheduled airline operations. The details are as follows

Air carnival, based out of coimbatore plans to operate with 5 ATR's and plans to launch commercial operations in January 2014. The managing director is Hridayanath along with 5 other directors including lima Rose and Nedumaran.

Turbo Aviation from hyderabad who is into charter and ground handling have also applied for regional scheduled operations. The owner is Mr Umesh.

Volk airlines has been refused the Initial Noc for scheduled airline operations and paramount has been advised to clear former financial liabilities to be considered again.

SOP will be granted soon to Air costa to launch airline operations.

Air Asia will get the initial Noc as soon as the security clearance of directors arrives in MOCA from MHA.

Applications are cheap to file. Getting the money to lease the aircraft is another issue.

After the King Fisher debacle, leasing companies are not hard pressed to lease aircraft to Indian start ups.

But it's nice to dream... isn't it?

You are spot on captjns........

After the fall of KF its very hard for indian startups to get aircraft's. Air costa struggled very much to get the 2 birds from ECC leasing. They were forced to book an ERJ190 from Embraer to prove the financial strength. Even after that they had to pay 8 months lease rents as security deposit for each aircraft when the standard industry practice is 3 months plus 1 month advance rental.

I have a feeling that zexus, Turbo, kairali airlines and New look airways will never take off likefreedom, volk, air Dravida and zav........

Air carnival has a healthy background but long way to feel the heat. By the way another company called sea bird also applied for seaplane services in kerala.

When 26 Airlines across the world was shut down in 2012 including Air Australia, BMI , spanair, Air Zimbabwe and our Kingfisher new players should do their home work before jumping into this business.

Ram charan teja is one of the directors of turbo aviation and plans to invest 50 crores with the company. Umesh is pretty happy with the situation. Noc is expected to be cleared next month.

I heard that there are some issues which still needs to be addressed. Also audit is going on in dgca. Might take few weeks more. Poor planning is making them bleeding. When the 2 birds arrived the reservation system was not ready, (negotiations were going on with naviataire and sabre) ultimately ended up with a delhi based company. The manuals were not submitted for approval except the security manual. So many basic works were pending.
Anyways lets hope that they get the RSOP soon. Don't want to see another entrepreneur in aviation struggling.

Zexus

Does anyone have any info (re: Zexus) on the rumour that their NOC was rejected and they have investor problems? They have not signed their LOI with their 175's suppliers, cancelled their US pilot training, one of their main pilots has quit, and are no longer in dialogue with their US partners!

Another company by the name skyjet has applied for Regional scheduled airline operations based out of delhi. They plan to operate with 3 A320's. Mr Thakur is the Managing Director and seems to have political backing.

Turbo Aviation has at least a background and track record operating biz jets and choppers,

Air Carnival seems to be a paper tiger, but I must admit, that I have no clue about their background.

I am not the person to issue the NOC dude.....😃...... so no need to assess my practicality. then if you want to know my opinion , If countries like brazil and russia have 4000 plus and 1200 plus airports why cant we have atleast 500 -550 quality airports..? if you take the statistics of international pax carried from the top 10 airports in india , more than 70% are by International carriers.. In BIAL its 90%..... Dont you feel theres more room for domestic and international carriers from india.?

Exactly my point . We need big players for that with big money. Not two bit airlines like Pegasus Carnival etc .
