Not many want to? To each his own. The classes are filled with guys that are willing to come over. Those over 62 but want to continue flying to 65.
The conversion cost is not 60-70K. The cost for the pilot is 34k, however it is prorated for the SQ over 62 because they have only 2.5 to 3 years of service left.

Contract
Hi all
Anyone else waiting for a contract. My mmpi results were completed a week ago, but I still haven't heard anything. The local guy has his contract, so maybe its due to needing a work permit and takes more time? Anyone in the same position?
Cheers!

Consequently Scoot has found a supply of captains and it seems they have no plans to recruit 787 DEC in the near future, or is it just temporary?

Anyone know if scoot offers a commuting kind of a contract for Captains.
As in 20/10 or 18/12 ?
And what are their travel benifits ( if any ).
Just a thought

Most importantly, You should have asked for actual line pilot roster for the last 6 months. You will see some interesting patterns

I would be interested to fly the 787. But just the financial aspect kinda holding me back from this gig. I am currently earning about the same money as 737 skipper as scoot offers but living in a way cheaper country. I have seen them advertising for roadshows and recruiting DEC again. Does anyone know if they still ask for this huge amount of money upfront? For me it just doesn't make sense to pay so much money upfront as deposit and for typerating costs for a job that pays me the same as I currently earn....
