DGCA Class 1 medical eosinophil issue
Hi guys,
I recently got my class 1 initial done at Apollo Chennai.
My eosinophil count is high at 9% while 6% is the limit. Apart from this every other report including chest/lung capacity is normal. However, I do live in an area where there's lot of dust due to construction work etc. I have consulted my family doctor and he has prescribed me certain medicines for a month to bring the count down.
Will I be asked to get this particular test(differential count/eosinophil) done again at IAM/AFCME after being made temporarily unfit? Is this a major concern? Has anyone else faced this particular problem? A little disappointed as this is the only thing that's holding me back..
Regards

Hey buddy!!
Listen just do not worry and loose hope, its not a big deal. I too had faced the same problem with my blood test ( lymphocyte count ).. They will want you to go to your family or any other doctor and get some meds to get ur count within range, then they would ask you to get another blood test done and get a certificate from your doctor stating that the count has reduced and they would also want a list of medicines that you used to get your count in control.. And yes they would then themselves perform another check and c the count.
In the end they will take your docs priscription and your report and they will send it away.. so Relaxx

Start the consult with your your MD without dealy to get your numbers down. Hopefully you have enough time from now until your initial medical with the IAF to reduce your numbers. Bring a certificate from your MD as well charting your progress. All the best

Thanks a lot for the help virus90 and captjns. I'll get the test done first in a nearby diagnosis center in some 3 weeks from now and hopefully it'll be within range. But, I still haven't taken an appointment at IAM. How long does it usually take to get an appointment for only a single test to be repeated?
