Kingfisher - still on?

Hi all

What's the latest on Kingfisher. About to fly to India and need a connection to a location that only Kingfisher serves. Or the train! ATRs still got spares and fuel? Pilots happy? Paid?

I know the speculation has been rife for months (years) about its demise... unpaid pilots / crew, creditors baulking...

The latest?

Latest in the news is that the Pilots and Cabin Crew are about to go on strike as they haven't been paid for past 5 months. I used to work for them and I wont fly with them now. Who knows what the state of their plane is, if they cannot pay their employees they cannot pay for spares.

I'd take the train if you do not have any other option.

Thanks DP - exactly my thinking. If there's no cash then there's no spending on things that have to be spent on... like maintenance etc

Somewhat worrying.

I know they had one of their planes repossessed at LHR and they have one outstanding to the same company. I'd be worried about maintenance and peeved staff too!

According to the DGCA, financial status of an airline has nothing to do with safety

Etihad to the rescue - don't think so!

I am sure that Etihad have no intention of picking up the pieces of KFA.

KFA are saddled with 3 billion $US of debt and have reduced market share to just 3%.
The figures just don't add up!

Etihad is not that stupid!
