Aadhaar UID Card / Online Self Query
Is the DGCA still insisting on producing a UID Aadhaar card at the time of licence isue/endorsements etc?
Even the Govt of India has not made UID card mandatory. It is voluntary and left to thhe individual to enrol or opt out of it. This is because very sensitive information such as your bio metrics etc are stored in the database.
How can DGCA then insist on producing the aaddhar card when the Govt of India does not require it's citizens to have one.
Can't we take the DGCA to court over this. Because what they are doing is unconstitutional. The DGCA have scant respect for privacy. They have made available such things as computer number, date of birth and residence address of pilots online for all to see, through their "Self Query" system. Doesn't that amount to breach of privacy and release of sensitive information to the public.
Any chance we can take the stooges at DGCA to court over this.

Courts Really, waste time and money!

I think yes, but some say they have relaxed it! Not sure the present situation.
Regarding the privacy thing, a recent high court judgement states something like this.. there is nothing called privacy of information mentioned in the constitution, so there is no privacy of information unless a gag order passed by suitable authority, either the court or the govt. What is sensitive in the DGCA website, in western society DOB, full name, address, email, ph no. are sensitive.. in India it is utterly useless, because the 1.2 B population nullifies the effects. You can't steal anything with this information, because it involves secondary private security measures for every individual involved in such transactions! !
