CAE - 34000$ for A320 should be the same for B737 also, can have a variation of 500-1000$ .This is just the training fee.Accomodation and food will be extra.
Skies Consultancy - 21000Euro for B737/A320 it includes your accomodation as well food etc. As far as I know the only extra cost will be your flight tickets

But after spending $50000 for my cpl, it's still a bit out of my budget..
Any other cheaper options?
Besides, what your take on the necessity of a TR these days?

Getting a type rating will increase the chance of getting a job , but we cant predict how things change in aviation.
Few months back Jet,Spice nd AI Express had recruitments for type rated B737 pilots, but you never know when will the next recruitment be. My suggestion would be think twice before getting any rating.

My genuine advice to you would be against going for a self sponsored TR if you are looking for a job in India...
There are KFA captains with 10,000+ hours 330/320 type rated looking for jobs... There are about 45 P2s from the 330 fleet who also have a 320 endorsement with at least 2000+ hours looking for jobs...
The odds aRe not in your favour. I am still to talk about the Air India guys here...
IndiGo isn't hiring anymore... They have 800+ pilots for a mere 56 airplanes...
I know this is completely off topic but think about these things before you jump the gun...

The amount of young Indians fresh out of flight school paying for their type ratings with only 200hrs and "no job" is still on the rise. I have seen them here in Australia and in the US and on this website....
I cringe for these young guys because they just can't see the "big picture"...
Anyhow the USA has the cheapest TR but remember with only 200hrs you will need to do pre training before you even attempt the actual TR. e.g Jet Transition training etc....You need to know the TR cost and the pre training costs and add them together...

Even I do see the fool hardiness in getting a TR at this point of time.
Being an indian citizen though, opportunities are far and few in between.
With no GA around here, one has to get a self sponsored TR. No matter if it's after an interview or before..
So.. Isn't it wise to consider each and every possible path to go down this road?

Pan Am Flight Training Academy offering $6900 USD for A320.......must do it before August though. You can check on their web-site and contact them through there.

cheapest type rating will not get you ready for an interview... if you go for a sim check the airlines instructor will apply very high stds during your sim check and the cheapest course will not cut it...
remember you get what you pay.. pay a bit more for a quality course that will ensure you a pass at the interview.

I would look into Panam Academy if you are certain to get a type. Their training package for a "Crew" for B-737-NG is around 19k which includes around 16 hours of FBS apart from the 8 FFS required by DGCA.

Think about it. If you were an airline hiring manager, would you rather hire somebody who has no experience on the airplane, or somebody who has 1000hrs on the plane?

It's sad, but the truth is that almost all copilots on the 737s 320s and once upon a time even on the AI 747s started as 250 hour fresher cpl holders.
GA is virtually non existent for a fresher so commercial jets is the way to go..
I am considering these options cause that's what the airlines want..
Most likely I won't do it at all.. But it's always wise to consider...
