Appeared for Nav comp on 23rd - as said the paper this time was really very very tough compared to last time, got a score of 65/100 , need to prepare for the next attempt now. Some questions i remember :

1. ETD in a flight plan means :

b) Amber

3. Atleast 3-4 questions on radial interceptions and 2 Q's on CP PNR.

a) precipitation falling in winters from mountainous regions
b) SCWD

5. 2 Questions on fuel calculations - diverting to alternate necessary or not?

6. Basic wt - xx, Load - xx, FOB - xx, altn fuel -xx, contingency fuel - xx, calculate fuel after landing at alternate.

7. What happens when a VOR gets saturated -

a) Increases its freq to accomodate more a/c
b) The weakest one gets eliminated (answer was phrased in a diff way)

8. Wind speed reqd in large mountain for mountain waves :

a) 7 m/s
b) 15 m/s

9. If Pitot is blocked, ASI shows during climb -

a) Increase
b) Decrease
c) constant.

Thats what i can remember for now.

Answer to that is

B: The weakest one gets eliminated. (Not 100% certain on this)

Anyone knows the answer to:

Perspective of geometric projection which is also orthomorphic is ?

I am guessing stereographic.

What happens when a VOR gets saturated
VOR beacons simply transmit their signals. They do not actually interact with the aircraft that are receiving these signals, so VOR cannot become saturated.

The question probably relates to DME.

DME stations must respond to interrogation signals from aircraft. Each station has the capacity to respomd to interrogations from up to 100 aircraft simultaneously. If more than 100 aircraft attempt to interrogate a DME at the same time, the DME will becomes saturated. It will then reduce its gain setting, so that it receives and responds to only the 100 strongest interrogation signals.

Polar Stereographic charts are orthomorphic.
