Where should a A320 Type Rated fresher try. I tried IndiGo didnt clear the interview, can never try again. GoAir put us on indefinite hold. Anybody shed some knowledge on other options available.

Like Southwest Airline (USA) does if you pass their interview and all, only after that they will ask you go get the type on B 737.
I really like that idea.

Some News about Volk

For the past few days, employees in the airline industry have been talking excitedly about a new domestic carrier that is entering the Indian market, and has already started hiring a crew to launch its operations. A four-star hotel in Andheri East was teeming last week with candidates waiting for interviews with this company.

But while Volk Airlines is being seen as a great beacon of hope by the struggling airline industry, and especially by the employees of the crisis-driven Kingfisher Airlines, there is confusion about this supposed new venture. None of the airline industry’s official gatekeepers we contacted, including the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), seemed to have any clue about it.

Mumbai Mirror has learnt that the booking for interviews at Kohinoor Continental Hotel last week was made by Zeta Travels, a company specialising in travel management and expenses owned by the Maalini Global Group, which is into industrial and infrastructure consultancy.

The airline’s half-complete website, which went live a few weeks ago, says it is registered office in Chennai and has it’s corporate offices in Bangalore. It claims to be world’s first vegetarian airline. “With a fleet of 12 aircraft, we currently cater to 15 destinations in India, and our network is rapidly expanding,” says a message from its anonymous chairman. The destinations on the website include cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Goa.

Just like Kingfisher Airlines, Volk says it will have a three-class seating arrangement with a total of 164 seats per flight - business class (8), economy plus (12) and economy (144). The company claims that it will acquire 12 Airbus 320-200 for its operations. Sources said the faces of the airline are former Indian Navy officer Ashwin Rao, and his wife Radhika Rao.

A source at the hotel where the interviews took place said that the company had informed them about 30 scheduled interviews on Thursday and Friday last week.

“However, as the interviews progressed, the lobby was overflowing with candidates. We called the CEO of the company Radhika Rao, who told us that as the soon as word spread among Kingfisher employees, they started turning up in huge numbers,” he said.

A Kingfisher employee who went for the interview seemed to corroborate this. “I came to know about this interview through some friends. No one I know got any written communication from the airline. When we went there, we were given a form to fill, asked a few basic questions, and told that the company will get back to us. Though we didn’t know anything about the company, we wanted to check if there was a job opportunity,” he said, adding the interviews in Mumbai was conducted by a former employee in the HR department of Kingfisher Airlines, Gaurav Pathak.

When contacted, Volk’s CEO Radhika Rao said that the airline was “in the process” of being launched. “This includes identifying people for various openings, and completing paperwork for a airline license etc. We should be able to make a formal announcement in a month’s time,” she said.

But when Mumbai Mirror spoke to the DGCA chief Bharat Bhushan, he had no information about this airline. “No documents have been submitted as of now. I have no knowledge of this airline,” he said.

“While applying for a licence, the airline needs to submit documents to Ministry of Civil Aviation which, when convinced, gives a NoC,” another DGCA official explained. “This NoC is then submitted to the DGCA, after which several rounds of meetings begin. The entire process takes eight to nine months at the very least. I don’t know whether Aviation Ministry has received any application, but I doubt it, since no document has reached the DGCA so far

hi

hi 3 greens

Normally An NOC is valid for 18 months. The NOC holder has to apply for the Import Permits, Should implement necessasary Infrastructure, Has to submit and clear security manuals to BCAS, and has to submit all other relevant manuals including operations manual to DGCA. The company who has not done these things in the stipulated time will be called for the Empowered committee for review. If the Company gives genuine explanation in the committee the NOC will be extended for 6 months more. Even after the company is found idle another extension is possible on genuine grounds. The 3rd extension is rare and As I mentioned earlier, star Aviation, Air Dravida, Akashganga has already been given 3 extensions and their NOC's not valid any more. It cannot be revoked. As far as Paramount is concerned they were an operational airline and their Scheduled Operators Permit (SOP) was suspended by DGCA , and was given a number of chances to clarrify their part. But The funders/Banks, Embraer & GCAS, Staffs and all other relevant institutes has different cases against the management including CBI chargesheet against Mr Thyagarajan for Cheating. So All these companies will never come up again.

Hope you are satisfied with the above.

Regards
