Valid Foreign medical for RTR conversion?

hello guys, do we need a valid foreign Class 1 medical in order to convert a foreign FRTOL to Indian RTR? The AF-1 form which is for the conversion does not mention that but some people say it is required. Most of they guys i asked are not aware of it so i thought of putting it up here

My RTR is coming up for renewal in a few months, and according to my airline, a valid medical is required. While I won't take theirs as the final word on this, it's better to air on the cautious side and just get it done.

Yes, the Foreign Class-1 medical needs to be valid and current at the time of filing application for conversion of RTR. I have done my conversion of Foreign FRTOL from one of the common wealth countries the similar way.

There are mixed views on this again, My foreign medical expires end of this month so i'm a bit worried whether they will accept it. I hear they only open your application after a month because of previous pending applications. I'm going to try my luck
