Philippines - JAA CPL/IFR/SEP sea rating?
Hi All,
I am PPL JAA SEP pilot (280 hours) and I ended up in Shenzhen, China for my standard non-flying job (finance). I have passed JAA ATPL theory exam (before knowing about relocation). GA does not exists in China, there is one aeroclub in Hong Kong (and foggy weather) so I am looking for a way how to improve my skills, log some hours and get JAA CPL & IFR ratings. I would like to get SEP SEA rating as well and spend some time flying rented float plane on holidays.
I have seen posts abou 0-ATPL ICAO schools in Philippines, but I can not quit my current job (yes, I can but do not want to...seems to be little bit risky re-start pilot career when I am 40 and a job market outlook is not so bright for freshmen...) so I am looking for JAA training facility "nearby" for shorter intense traing courses. And Philippines looks like right choice.
The idea is get ratings, log some hours, have fun and there maybe that some opportunity arises..
Could someone help me with recommendations, please? Thx

Don't quit your job.

It is going to take you long long years to get it done in the Philippines.
There is one and only JAA examiner in Malaysia. He could probably gives you a CPL Single Engine VFR checkride. This way, it will be much faster and cost effective. Search through the forum page or WOA.

It looks like the best way is just to save enough holidays and travel to get training & rating in Europe....
Any advice for good aeroclu for recreational flying in Asia?
Regards,
Jan
