Myanmar Airlines
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth website mentions that their staff are not advised to fly on this airline due to safety considerations. Yet searching this forum didn't bring up any concerns.
Can anyone please enlighten me as we are thinking of visiting Myanmar this year.
Many thanks

As the Bangkok UK Embassy also deemed Bangkok unsafe or uncomfortable for their UK staff’s dependents a couple of months ago I would take anything they say with a shovel full of salt.
Probably means Myanmar Airlines don’t serve the right Champagne!

Myanma Airways operates Fokker 27 and Fokker 28 aircraft on local routes, and has a very poor operational standard. It's govermental.
Myanmar Airways International (MAI) operates A320 and A321 on international routes and has a flawless safety record.
It is at least partly internationally owned and managed.
Local flights are also offered by Air Mandalay and AirBagan who are of good standards.

Having worked alongside several pilots from Myanmar in a previous company I felt that they were first rate. So I wouldn't have any concerns about the guys up the front

Well that might have been due to the severe flooding.
