DGCA license status
Hi Guys,
I referred to previous thread, however, nobody has replied to that thread as yet.
I check my DGCA license issue Status on their web.
It says Issue under progress since the application date : 25/11/2011.
What does that exactly mean?
Does that mean that License would be issued in a few weeks or They have just accepted my application?

I had my license issued 1 week after the "under progress" status appeared.
Since its been more that a month in your case your best option is to contact DGCA and find out.
There is a possibility that the delay is due to Christmas and New Year.

Oh no buddy,
I got the Issue under progress message yesterday on 27 December, the application date was 25 November 2011.
Today the message says UNDER PROCESS
and
Shortfall(s), if any, in application are as follows.
However, there are no Shortfalls mentioned.
Did you pick your license from DGCA HQ or you received that through Courier?
Also, let me know, what year and month did you receive your license?
Thanks in Advance.

In that case you just have to wait about a week and your license should be issued. Your application is in fact being processed surprisingly fast. DGCA took more 2 months to change my status to "under process".
The message says shortfalls IF ANY. If there are no shortfalls listed then there are no shortfalls in your application. Simple as that.
My license was issued on 15/12/2011. I still haven't received my license and I have no idea how they're gonna send it to me. I've been calling them since the day my license was issued but nobody ever answers the phone.
I'm gonna wait for couple more weeks. If they still don't answer the phone then I'll go to Delhi myself and pick it up.

Thanks for that enlightenment Sam,
I think its always a good idea to collect your license personally.
You never know what happens in Speed post.
Once my license is issued, I will also collect the license personally from DGCA office.

Are you sure you they use speed post and not registered post? Either way yeah it is better to pick it up. Just hope that they won't have posted everything by the time I get to their office.

Yes, they have started using Speed post.
Well, I think you should call them before visiting their office, it's hard to predict, if they have dispatched your license already.

DGCA has actually managed to improve delivery times of licenses. Usually it should take maximum 1 week for the license to reach you once it has been dispatched. This is good news especially for those of us who live far from Delhi since otherwise we'd have to spend at least Rs 10,000 for plane tickets just to collect the license.
P.S - Vinz please try to use proper English. Its painful reading your post.

Good heavens! You have conveniently killed the English language, my friend.
Anyway, regarding the status of your licence, if you are not able to select the application date, it means the DGCA Licensing Officer hasn't gone through your application yet. Even if he/she did, maybe they just haven't updated it on the DGCA website. Be patient. Give it another week or two.

I reckon whatever flying you do after April 1, 2012, the current requirements of undergoing flight checks/tests in India must be fulfilled. Your application dated 15 December 2011 is not in the picture anymore if the DGCA has advised you to do the recency all over again.
