Nostep, If by 'overshoot' you mean Go-around, then this is a non event. A go-around would indicate that the crew are on top of the situation. The issue would be when the crew fails to go-around and tries to land from a high/fast/unstabilised approach.
Maybe you could be more specific in you thread.

And they blame it on the wind

Lion Air blames strong winds for minor plane accident | The Jakarta Post

Lies, lies, lies. "A sudden 20-30 shift in wind."

This is BS. There was no heavy rain at the time of the incident, and winds were light, according to everyone I've talked to. We'll probably never know what really happened because an investigation won't happen.

Even if it was an "incompetent Indian first officer with fake hours on cpl" they've been doing enough of these to ask some serious questions.

Will DGCA do more than banning them from landing on a wet runway at Balikpapan?

Isnt it true that ALL the Indonesian airlines have a dubious accident incident record?

Fake CPL hours.. lol.. m not buying that.
Poor training and monitoring standards- thats more like it...

Still not allowed in to Europe huh.

Diamond 71, your post is a bit confusing. Who, in your opinion, is at fault? The training captain, or the First Officer?

The only way you would have full intimate details concerning the incidnet, is if you had access to the DFDR, and DCVR. Do you have access to the unedited recordings?

The information you are relating is that which was related to you.

The old saying goes... There is the captain's version, the first officer's version, and the truth... which has been memorialized on the DFDR, and the DCVR.

That said, don't present evidence to which, you, yourself, can not verify.
