Experienced FO's upgrade on Tiger?

Fellow Flyers,

Tiger is currently offering contracts to experienced FO's, which consider upgrade to left seat, based on experience and performance.

Is there anyone out there who has been succesfull surviving through this process and is now actually flying the left seat?

Comments on Tiger and life for an expat in Singapore will be appreciated.

Nice landings everyone!

I'm aware of two guys with considerable A320 experience who joined two years ago and are still waiting for their upgrade. Ex Qatar, I think.
Fast track? Not really.

I know a few guys there. 2 guys being upgraded every month at the moment based on quite rightly seniority and experience. I'd say it's fast track within 2-3 years in the company and 3000hrs total time... But all relative to you're idea of fast track.

When I was there, it was rather 6 months. But it depends if you are ready for it. 2 years in a big company doesn't guarantee that you are.

They are quite good in judging if you are going to be a captain. It's not complicated, it's not a steel bath like in Cathay. It's just common sense. And it's not seniority.
