B-2 Visa Help

Can we travel to US on B-2 (Tourist ) visa to get our recency done.
Or do we need an M-1 Visa for this purpose?

Since no additional training is involved, Tourist Visa is fine.

where do you plan to go?
I am looking for a cheap school myself.

No you do not need an M1 for recency.

I have a copy of the clarification sent by the US gov to boeing. will upload the copy here if I can locate it.

As long as no additional 'training' is carried out B2 is sufficient.

You wont be eligible for an M1 visa since going for recency is not training

Make sure you have a letter from the flying school to present to the U.S consulate stating that you need to do recency for meeting Indian DGCA requirements

Keep the letter in hand when you enter the U.S as you might have to present it to the immigration officer .
They wouldnt let one of my friend through at the customs until he showed them this letter despite have a valid visa
