I have been to that simulator...lol
its so old that
all the numbers and alpha numericals on the MCDU have faded out...
the trims which has alternate black white stripes have faded to just white...
and many more things
this was just an observation from inside.

CTE SIM's are old and rusted soon to be classified as vintage model's
But they got very good ground instruction course which can make a difference among system exams asked by airlines in India.
But cost is way too much & with 28 Lakh's i can do 320+737 TR

It's no use doing type from CTE.
They make you remember all the figures which makes you go crazy. They make you study the FCOM systems for 3-4 months.
It's better to do self study for the written exam conducted by airlines.
All the questions are asked from smartcokpit.com. So just study the FCOM by yourself and do the questionnaire instead of wasting your money.

Base check
@ cyrilroy21:
yes you have to do a base check before you are cleared for flying with pax.
Usually the company takes anywhere from 4-6 F/Os on a plane early in the morn between (2-5am) and does the checks.
Only its called FAM flight, Familiarization flight.
Has to be min of 45 mins and 3 t/o and landings..
hard on the plane trust me... that many landing cycles in that short a time does shake things up in the plane...

@Challenger 05
Thanks for the info
I know that IC does base checks but was not aware of the other airliners in India or whether it was compulsory or voluntary
I guess the first base check in your first jet aircraft must be really exciting
Also do you happen to know what the term "Suppy" is used for ?

Hi Cyril,
Supy or Suppy or supernumerary is basically an observer in the flight deck. Before you can go for your first officer online training you will have to do certain number of hours of sectors of supernumerary flying. Basically observing the SOP's and other flows. Once you have completed the required number of observation flights you can go for your first officer training release checks so you can start your training in the plane.

Well its a bit risky spending that much money just for indigo.....nobody else is hiring. Remember you will only have 2 attempts to clear the writtens and only one for interview after your rating. If you dnt clear that , you wont be allowed to appear again in indigo....
But on the other hand if you have got enough money then its a good step to take forward...

I don't have that kinda money.
I am really confused if I should go for it.
I'm planning for a type because I have appeared for indigo exams, but couldn't get through.
I just hope it's different with a type rating. I have been waiting for about 2 years now.
Do you know anyone who got through after the type rating exam and what is it like?
Am trying to get all the info before I go for TR.
Thanks.
