I would suggest you to sit at home and prepare online from Aviationexam.com website. They have explanations for each and every question with diagrams and step by step solution for numericals as well. Thats the best ATPL classes you can take.

Guys i don't think you really need to use the website specially when you have to pay , I prepared for my ATPL attempt by reading GSP's rigorously and covering each and every topic , from dopplers to automation .
A question bank can help but even if you cover up on your theory nicely you needn't worry .
For met I.C Joshi and understanding of some basic concepts will help .

Anyone heard of Surinder Singh ?
Here is a website with a free JAA ATPL QUESTION bank . It dosent explain the answers though . THe online version is free
2go.aero :: the aviation test preparation :: home
@priyankaflyingbird
The DGCA is accepting applications for CPL/ATPL exams although the last date for application has not been published yet
Instructions
http://www.dgca.nic.in/result/Pilot_0411Inst.pdf
Make sure you use the latest revision of the application form which as of this writing is Jan 2011 ( please check before you apply )
The documents required is given on the application form
From the looks of it apart from the DD all you will be needing is an attested copy of your Indian CPL with ME endorsement
Also make sure you go through the latest syllabus

Yes you can apply right now
No you dont have to put xerox of 10th and 12th ( They dont ask it on the form anyway )
Your Indian CPL is proof enough that you passed 10+2 with physics and maths
So all you need will be the DD and the attested copy of Indian CPL

Yup I believe you can post it by hand at the CEO office since the application form ( Jan 2011 revision ) has columns for receipt if deposited by hand
The only thing you are not allowed to do is send the application form by private courier company (eg : Blue Dart , Fedex , UPS etc )
It has to be done by using speed post / registered post only
This applies to all application forms to be sent to the DGCA office

hi,
i am not able to find the answer for the following questions which has been asked in DGCA ATPL oral.
it would be helpful if someone could tell the answer for the following questions,
what is the difference between RNAV 1 and RNP1?
in en-route charts, why are some airports doesnt have localiser symbol, even though airport has ILS facility.
who issued the MOCA which is depicted on enroute chart ( jeppesen or state authority, ? how can we find out this? )
Thanking you

dgca not accepting applications for July session yet
Weird as it may sound, but found out the hard way. DGCA is not accepting applications for the July exams as yet. Went to hand deliver mine only to find out to hold on to it. They are expecting to make the application process Online within the next few days, including the July session. Not sure what happens to all those who may have mailed in their applications. Would have been nice if something to that effect was mentioned on the dgca portal. Oh well...Good luck.

@sriramee
answer to ques no.2
The localiser symbol is only printed for facilities which are used for enroute navigation. (can recall this from my FAA orals)
Answer to ques3.
The MOCA is issued by the state authority.
If anyone disagrees, please make us aware of the right ans.

Even if the DGCA were accepting applications for the written they'll not accept applications by hand ( they put in a circular a few months back that they are only accepting applications through speedpost....) Guess we'll have to wait it out and see how it goes.......Looks like this July attempt ain't gonna happen in July...
