How to Re-new / Re-validate expired DGCA CPL

Hi Guys,

I have a DGCA CPL which expired almost 11 yrs ago. I am want to renew or re-validate my expired Indian CPL and the RTR(A) etc.
I have been out of the aviation scene for a very long time, so I have no idea what the scene is & requirements are.
I can lookup the requirements from CAR but it doesn't include any ADD ONS or additional self made requirements by DGCA.

I know I have to give all papers, but I don't know how many are these days & do I need to give techincal gen & specific.

Also, if some of you guys can shed some light on what the written papers are asking these days, what is the trend, what books or notes to study from & where to get such notes etc.

For the RTR, do I give both Transmission & Oral or just the transmission. Who is the best guy these days to study from for RT.

I know there is a lot of threads on forums but they all kindo of deal with foreign conversion & issues like that.

I request the guys who are current in the scene to please share information.

Papers - Depends if you got Foreign ATPL /CPL....then convert it by sitting for conversion exams( 2 Exams -Regs / Composite ) based on category of your type.

If you do not have Foreign license then sit for General exams - 5 in total as if now.Can not say about July attempt.

For flight hours - You need to check it yourself with DGCA about how many hours of yours have lapsed.

Trend forcast of DGCA exam - Prepare everything mentioned in DGCA syllabus and hope for best prepare for worst.Search PPRUNE threads regarding DGCA exams and type will better give you idea about it.There is NO LIGHT TO SHED about DGCA exams because DGCA works on RUMOUR which tends to be more like HUMOR.

RTR - For RTR Converted /Permit ,you need foreign license ( CPL minimum along with FRTOL )

If got NONE then sit for both PART -1& 2...get Indian RTR (A)

Study material....then again search this Forum and you will be get enough details.

PS : Ohh i just read your post in other thread stating pilots in Indian Aviation should not need SPOON FEEDING .So search this forum and you will get full details. For lapse hours you need to do as directed.

@Johny Boy

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to shed whatever light U could....

I am mentally prepared for writing all the exams, just wanted to find out what the trend is these days....

Also, you mentioned that July is unknown, so are there any new changes due in July....

I have the RTR A which is also expired, that's why I asked what others think is a good person to go to for RT.

Any other comments, someone would like to share........

July ATPL attempt will be computerized ( RUMOUR )

I have the RTR A which is also expired, that's why I asked what others think is a good person to go to for RT.
Expired RTR(A) - Both Part 1&2.....get a new RTR(A) if you got 30 hours in last 36 months.
If you meant Classes for RT Exam? - Can not say.No first hand experience of RT classes.

Most of pilots( Un-employed ) in this forum are with VALID Licenses. So i doubt if you get a expired views from an pilot with expired license.
Best place for hours related query is DGCA .
