How is Indigo to join as a trans Capt, that question might be answered by an experienced pilot working for the company, however as an outsider i would love to work for that company.
All pilots in India, low time or experienced, would love to work for Indigo.
They have the best customer satisfaction and on-time performance according to aviation authorities.
I hope the T&Cs offered to captain will be excellent.

Statistics is like b****i, it reveals a lot but hides critical information
Jet (not including Jetlite) 21.1% of total domestic operation with a market share of 17.5% and a seat factor of 69.2%. OPT 93.9, Isn't it too early to pat ourselves on our back?
Competitor 14.6% of total domestic operation with a market share of 19.5%! Seat factor of 81.2% and OTP of 93.6(only .3 less).
Time to and introspect

indigo as transtion captain
Indigo from friends(P1's) , Indian nationals flying for them seem to have too many contradicitions. They are professional , roster is followed for the month and training and standards are top-notch.
What seems to irk many ar the inflexible attitiude on simple issues....I thought it would surely be a complaint from a few but there seems to be a lot of evidence supporting this. Look at the turnover of Indian captains they have had....it shows that retaining experienced Indian pilots are not high on the priority of HR in Indigo. At the same time, look at the turnover rate of Indian captains from Jet Airways. A trickle compared to Indigo, there's a lesson for HR..keeping your employees happy makes financial sense ...simple isnt it? They were lucky with KF bleeding many pilots to them but things are slowly improving at KF
With the number of planes on order and experienced Indian nationals shunning the carrier, Indigo are ready to hire you as a trainee captain with an Indian ATPL and 2500 hrs total time. The expat(July 2013) rule also stares at them ...the clock is ticking. If I was in Indigo HR, I would be a bit nervous , maybe I need to look at this better..hmmm.
Casper , you are right ,the march numbers you have taken from DGCA's website don't do full justice to the real situation . More than seat factor, you need to look at revenue per seat. As far as competition is concerned , Jetlite and jet konnect are competing in the same segment as Indigo. Jet airways is in a totally different ball game. You can have 90% load in Business and 40% in economy and still make ample profits on a flight. That's not the same for a lo-co.
But one thing's granted, Indigo are the best Low cost airline in India today and they are a force to be reckoned with ...it's good to see a well-oiled machine and all the best for the future prospects......
